This book has many helpful psychological tricks for those of us who know we require self-help. They are but a validation for the philosophy that goes against the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Tolle quotes Jesus in this book often, and mostly completely wrongly. He does not take the picked-out words in context of the whole chapter he takes it from. What is worse, Tolle insists that only HIS interpetations of these verses from the Holy Bible are correct, and further that anyone who thinks otherwise than him is blatantly WRONG!
This shows the desperation in which Tolle clings to his Eastern Philosophical Teachings - if he found himself proven wrong, that would invalidate the only alternative he clings to, in order to avoid suicide.

I heard a lot about The Shack, but didn't read it until almost a year later. Surprisingly, this book exceeded my expectations! There are a lot of lessons to be learned from reading this book. Personally, the chapter on judgement was very challenging for me. You'll still be mulling over what you read in this book weeks after you've finished it. Read it and pass it on, or buy copies for your friends. Everyone should read this book!

I read this book after many recommendations. The premise of the book is that we can use the power of attraction, through positive thought, to get what we want from life (e.g. a life partner, job, wealth).

This book is a strong example of the current Western Individualism, focusing on our needs and desires. For those with more duty-based morals or a focus on our contribution to society, this book will likely be distasteful.

I did not finish the book as I did not appreciate the self-centered and materialistic values promoted in it.

are the two most influential books on the market. These books are
designed to be savored one page at a time and they are full of life

The God Delusion

This book relies on the worst possible arguments to "validate" atheism, starting with fact that people who were smarter than you were atheists, therefore you should be too. Dawkins plows past centuries of philosophical and anthropological studies that could have helped his cause and instead presents questionable scientific principles and his own opinions.
Freud was the first to call religion a group delusion in his "Future of an Illusion", supporting his argument with clinical evidence and psychopathology. Dawkins steals the idea, making it the title of his book, but nowhere is Freud's study mentioned. All in all, this biased and unscientific text brings little to the discourse on atheism.
