I loved this book! I dont know why people hated it. The only part that could have been better was the whole bella changing into a vampire didn't last long,

Fans of graphic novels have been crying out for the genre to be taken as legitimately literary for quite some time. Some of these works really should be taken seriously - Neil Gaiman's Sandman series, for example - and some really are nothing more than glorified comic books. As with any genre, there are diamonds and lumps of coal - and Watchmen is the diamond. If you only read one graphic novel, it should be this one.
Plot summaries and spoilers abound; suffice to say that this book involves superheroes, conspiracies, relationshps, insights, metaphysical questions, and so, so very many levels of meaning. Don't let the superheroes put you off: this is as mature and real a treatment of these preadolescent phenomena as you will ever ... Read More:

There is something really wonderful about picking up a new book
that's over 900 pages long and every one of them is worth reading slowly
- no skimming ahead - really reading and enjoying every word. Neal
Stephenson's new book is a masterpiece-and boy can I see a movie in this!
It has great writing, a fantastic creation of a world like ours yet not,
set in a future that is not very pretty - the secular world is a
post apocalyptic landscape wasted by years and years of war,
pollution, and rise and fall of societies, resulting in a general population
that lives to consume the latest in gadgets, fast food and entertainment.
Sound familiar?
There is another society, behind concent ... Read More:

Imagine Rudyard Kipling's "Jungle Book"... but replace the animals with ghosts, ghouls, werewolves and other such supernatural creatures.
Such is the concept of "The Graveyard Book," which cleverly turns Kipling's classic story into an exquisitely-written, darkly witty fantasy. While it starts as the assorted supernatural adventures of a young boy raised by ghosts, the story slowly evolves into a beautifully ghastly confrontation between Nobody Owens and the people who want to do him harm.
"There was a hand in the darkness, and it held a knife." A man named Jack kills an innocent family at night -- except for a baby boy, who toddles out to the graveyard.
With the approval of the Lady on the Grey, the Owens ghosts ... Read More:

This is the 2nd book is Harris' southern vampire novels and I think she does a great job at following up the first one Dead Until Dark.
Again we join Sookie Stackhouse as she is drawn even more into the world of the supernatural. This time she is to use her mind reading talents for a vampire in Dallas. All the while continuing to fall deeper in love with her vampire boyfriend, learn more about the under belly of her small town and deal more with Eric, a vampire leader you just know has a thing for her and eventually it will create problems.
After reading the 2nd and not being disapointed I know I will continue on through the series.

I just received this book in the mail today, after a few months of eagerly awaiting. The treasure guide in the Player's Handbook was anemic, at best, and this new book really fills it out with a whole whack of new and some familiar treasure items, ranging from weapons, armour, magic items, etc. Definitely a must-have for players and dungeon master's. A single copy per gaming group will likely suffice, however.
The reason for only a 4 star review: I truly wish the PHB had had more options for treasure and magic items in it, and I don't like feeling compelled to pick up this book.

I stayed away from The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger for a while. The reviews seemed to range from brilliant to people not enjoying it at all. Now I add myself to the group of readers who love this book. With its most unusual concept - a man who can travel through time - the book is not at all futuristic or bordering on science fiction. I loved the writing style throughout the book and, while it took me a few chapters to get used to the time shifting, it was utterly amazing to learn how everything unfolded to fit together as more and more of the story was revealed through the various timelines. The movement back and forth through time was not at all confusing. Ultimately, this was the amazing love story of Clare and Henry. Deeply sad in some ways, ... Read More:
