The first reviewer was right; not a lot of bang for the buck. It's more of a sappy love story the further the plot progresses. Not to mention that the DVD itself comes in a cardboard case, rather than a traditional plastic one, allowing for the inevitable bends and creases due to standard delivery practices. As a lover of Futurama, I HAD to get this to add to my collection, but, in the future, I hope they try to focus more on the comedy.

I went in to Ghost World expecting an oddball comedy, so I was surprised by the nuance, depth, and emotional complexity of this film. There are some funny moments, certainly, but the whole movie is just too deep, dark, and meaningful to be dismissed as mere comedy. Your reaction to the film may well depend on what kind of person you are - or were back in school. If you were cool and ran with the in crowd, you'll probably laugh - condescendingly, of course - at the losers who make up the main characters of the story. If you were an oddball and have drunk deeply from the waters of alienation, however, you will feel a real kinship with these characters. I didn't enjoy "For Your Consideration" but I decided to give director Christopher Guest another chance by seeing "Waiting for Guffman." Guest plays as Corky a quirky stage director celebrates his small town's history by putting on a play featuring local residents. Having recruiting a fun cast of SCTV and SNL make this one of the most creative comedies I've seen. It has many funny moments, especially from Corky. At times, I'm sure what the actors had to go through was embarrassing, especially when Willard and O'Hara were doing their duet. A way that that was put into perspective for me was when our school put on a performance of `Bye Bye Birdie', and the person who played Gloria Rasputin, a glitzy dancer who is not very good, commented how embarrassing it ... The main character in this movie is so incredibly stupid, annoying and obnoxious that the only thing which could have saved the movie for me would have been if Ronnie had met some kind of gruesome bloody end.

I didn't even crack a smile while watching this movie, and I usually enjoy off-beat and possibly offensive humour...but this movie is just not funny. It's stupid and boring and unoriginal, and as I said the main character is a total loser. I wish I hadn't wasted that hour and a half of my life watching it.

"Small soldiers" This is so cool. It's about toys which come alive. And then the soldiers are the bad guy's and the monsters are the good guy's. And then the monsters meet a boy. Then the soldiers try to attack him {boy}. And after that they find out that they put special chips {electronic} to make them alive. Then the people try to stop the soldiers and they do. After that the boy takes the monsters to the forest and lets them free. Then the end.

THEY USED TO SHOW THIS MOVIE ONCE IN AWHILE ON SATURDAY'S, WHEN I WAS A KID.ALTHOUGH I DIDN'T REMEMBER MUCH ABOUT THE MOVIE, I ORDERED IT FROM AMAZON ANYWAY.MUCH TO MY DELIGHT,I FOUND THE MAGIC SWORD VERY ENTERTAINING AND STILL ENJOYABLE AFTER ALL THESE YEARS.KUDO'S TO MGM FOR RELEASING THE MAGIC SWORD ON DVD.I THINK MGM DID A GOOD JOB WITH THE PICTURE AND SOUND OF THIS MOVIE GIVEN IT'S AGE AND I'M HAPPY TO HAVE IT ON DVD.I REALLY ENJOYED SEEING BASIL RATHBONE AGAIN, AS THE EVIL SORCERER LODAC.IF YOUR A FAN OF THE OLD ADVENTURE/FANTASY CLASSICS LIKE THE JACK THE GIANT KILLER AND SINBAD,THEN THE MAGIC SWORD MAY BE FOR YOU.

When I first heard of this film it didn't interest me that much but after a number of recommendations I dove into it. Thankfully enough I found "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" an excellent romantic and intriguing comedy-drama about two people who don't truly realize they are in love until one loses the other. Joel Barish (Jim Carrey) is a lonely yet sweet man who is looking for true love and the ideal woman.
