This show just keeps getting more and more intriging with each episode. It is so unfortunate there was a writers strike last year leaving us with only 11 episodes of season 2. However, there 11 episodes we did get are great. New characters are being added and the suspense is building. Who's good? Who's bad? Who can be trusted? A lot of interesting surprises await veiwers of this season and I for one cannot wait for season 3 to start. There's a small preview of season 3 on the last disk, doesn't really set up much but gives you an idea of the direction the show is about to head into. Some darker times await these Heros, I'm sure. So grab some popcorn, pop in these disks and enjoy the build up season 3.

The first season of Heroes is amazing! I love this show and followed it almost religously the first season. I just bought the second season because I wasn't able to watch it when it was on. Once I watch the second season then I'll put a review up for it, and I hope it continues to be as good as the first.

I PICKED UP THE FIRST SEASON AFTER SPEAKING TO AN AMERICAN FRIEND ABOUT HIS FAVOURITE SHOW.."THE WIRE."
I GUESS I WAS EXPECTING ANOTHER BANG, BANG, SHOOT'EM UP POLICE SERIES BUT IT WAS SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT.
I WHIPPED THROUGH ALL FIVE SEASONS WITHOUT COMING UP FOR AIR. DAVID SIMON HAS CREATED SOME TV MAGIC HERE. THE MOST DESCRIPTIVE WORD I CAN THINK OF TO DESCRIBE THIS SERIES IS, CREDIBLE.
THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY OF BALTIMORE..IT'S ALL HERE. YOU WILL NOT WANT IT TO END. FIVE SEASONS WAS NOT ENOUGH.
OMAR AND BUBBLES WILL LIVE IN MY HEART FOREVER.

I entirely agree with those critics out there who think season 6 was awful. Having said that, I actually thought the season had gotten off to a promising start . . . too bad it went off the rails so quickly. For me, the major drawing point of the show has always been (Sutherland's brilliant portrayal of) the character of Jack Bauer. Here we have (or had, anyway) a finely nuanced take on the classic tragic hero figure. What made Bauer such a compelling character in previous seasons was that he was always presented as the only person who could get the job done, the guy to whom all the really hard choices would invariably fall. For example, decisions about whether to resort to the extremity of torture.

I watched 1 and 2... and I'm hooked up FOR EVER... and now 3 is on the go... and it is just picking up... this season is also so addictive. Love it... can't wait to January 14, 08 when they come back... so I can seat and bite my nails again LOL..:o))

If you've gotten this far, there's really no need to read any review. All I can say is the DVD extras are nothing to write home about compared with Season 4's. The focus on the Baltimore Sun newspaper and the decline of the influence of daily papers is good but not great. As an editor, I enjoyed the process, but again when The Wire goes off into "white people land," I often find it less interesting.

Yes, this is a sort of reverse racist way of looking at the series but I just find the black characters far more interesting and better actors. The lying reporter I find just as wimpy as Carcetti was in Season Three.

there are a lot of people who complain about the quality of what is available on tv today, but if those folks have seen any or all of THE WIRE, they would think again.
it all fits together. you need to see them all from the start to the last episode. it IS a world.
it is great tv! it makes you think. you have to give it your full attention.
the dealers, the users, the good and bad cops, the suppliers, the politicians and the media are all here. it will hook you and leave you wanting more. there are five seasons. that is really not enough for those of us that got WIRED.
