No matter how old I get, I'll never be too old to enjoy a good teen movie. Yes, it's rather formulaic, but 10 Things I Hate About You is smart and funny and more intelligent than your average teen comedy. It also stars Julia Styles, which is a definite plus in my book. I can't say my high school was anything like Padua High (how many high schools take place in a huge castle?), and I certainly never had an English teacher like the one teaching here, but every high school is pretty much the same when it comes to cliques, romances, misunderstandings, sibling rivalries, and the like. The film itself is a classic, from the soundtrack (which features recently broken-up members of The Eagles), Stevie Nicks, and Jackson Browne. Cameron Crowe wrote the true story of teenagers in late 70s San Diego (Clairemont High) from his own perspective, originally written for Rolling Stone magazine. Because he looked so young at the time, he was able to go to school and fit in. Even though Crowe changed the city to the LA area (the movie also takes place in LA), the Clairemont High schoolers were upset with a lot of it. "Rat" is now the writer of some of the "Dummies" books.

it's a good movie with an awesome soundtrack, whenever i listen to it, i sing it all day long ! the storyline's a little bit been here, done that, but still, Johnny Depp makes all the difference. i would definitely recommend the movie to any Grease fan or to anyone for that matter !!!!

Revolutionary in its time, now it plays just as well; however you spend a lot of time thinking about this is where it all started. We all have our favorite parts and people. What is that at the fountain? No it can't be, Joan Cusack? And this is the last time you will see Jamie Gertz on the bench.

You will have to watch it several times to take it all in.

People don't want to be told what they do or do not like and the fact of the matter is that you can't tell someone they'll love or hate Napoleon Dynamite. It is the type of movie which one viewer will immediately despise and another will be in a fit of giggles the whole way through - the humor style really leaves no room for a middle ground. That said, the best reviews are the informative ones and saying 'this was the best flipping movie EVER' accomplishes nothing.

So I'll break it down; there is no plot and the humor is the basic everyday sort that you would laugh at your best friend for but never expect to see in a directed movie.
