This film is a truly sweet tale of two musicians. He busks on the street when not working in a vaccuum repair shop. She is a single mom with a heartbreakingly lovely voice. Their names are never mentioned. They collaborate and record and share snipets of each other's lives.
The song "Falling Slowly" won a well deserved oscar this past year and the soundtrack is not to be missed.
It's not very long and has a fairly simple storyline but the sheer loveliness of it all makes it stay with you long after it has ended. This is the kind of movie that when you're finished watching it, your heart feels full.

Buy this DVD...turn off the 'phone...put it on and let the most extraordinary rock concert ever filmed wash over you. The Band were extraordinary enough: a back-up group for such illuminati as Ronnie Hawkins and Bob Dylan. A "back-up band" that became legends on their own. This concert which was filmed by the legendary Martin Scorsese is simply wonderful. The songs are great and then the list of guest artists is stunning! Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Dr. John, Bob Dylan...the list is endless and that's what makes this for me: the delectable and unpredictable extravagance of the guest artists that seamlessly make music with this timeless group. It's summer vacation and the gang from East High is headed out to the local country club, either as members or as employees. Sweethearts Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) are hard at work, but still have plenty of time for near-smooches. Bratty Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) has her eye on Troy, however, and is wooing him with a possible college scholarship.

This is one fun musical. All the high school stereotypes are here - the jocks, the brainiacs, the snobs - and they all sing and dance their way into our hearts. There's a big musical number about every five minutes and the productions are energetic and fun . The Paris Opera House is being sold to a couple of junk... oops scrap metal dealers. They inherit along with the opera and Opera Company but also an unwanted guest. Yes it is the Opera Ghost or Phantom. The ghost falls in love with a voice and before the story of a love triangle is over we see that genius has turned to madness.

Loosely base on a story written by Gaston Leroux in 1911 "LE Fantôme de l'Opéra" (with many improvements) and more than 10 movie adaptations, "Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera" is brought to film with only scenes and sights and full orchestral music at can only bee seen and heard on film (best in Blu-ray).

I was out on the deck cooking a steak and listening to Bob Dylan playing down in Bayfront Park when between songs he pointed out to the crowd that he had been born here in the Zenith City in a hospital on the side of the hill. This was the second time that Dylan had played Duluth, and the fact that he acknowledged this is the city of his birth was seen as icing on the cake because most of us were surprised he would ever come back here to play. That is because the man born Robert Zimmerman has been running from northern Minnesota pretty much since the day he graduated from Hibbing High School.

I love a good music DVD....I own over a hundred. This is one of the best outdoor, live recordings, I have found to date. It is one thing to record in a concert hall where most things are under the producer's control, however, outdoors can be intimidating. Then to have the recording live where you only get one chance at it really puts the pressure on.

In this DVD you will find well lit sets, superb surround quality with excellent separation, and intelligent mix-down that adds to the "I'm really there" feeling. Just about as good as it gets! BTW: The songs aren't half bad either.
