OK, it IS a bit of a blast from the past but I LOVE the idea of having two women singing duets. We live in Canada. We celebrate life and love. The album is like a giant gift . I so hope Anne Murray will continue for years to come.

Theres A Hippo In My Tub

I had this cassette when I was growing up, when I found out that I was pregnant I knew I had to buy this CD for my kids. Listening to it brings back memories from a great childhood. This is a definate buy for your kids. It even has some adult songs that any parent would listen to, my personal favorite is 'Hey Daddy'!

There's Hippo in My Tub

This will be my sixth copy of this CD that I have purchased for friends. My girlfriend's child was a very sick baby. He cried constantly. But when we put There's a Hippo in My Tub on, he always stopped crying to listen. Anne Murray's voice has a truly soothing quality that shines through all of these songs. They are mostly old songs that I remember listening to as a child. They bring back very fond and happy memories.

Country Croonin 30 Timeless

Ann has always had a uniquely warm voice but on this record she surpasses the orginal performances of some great country artists. The songs on this CD are classics, and her musical arrangements are breathtaking. The feelings she expresses exceed any of those I heard on the orginal artist's renditions.

This Cd is a joy to listen to, it touched my heart. This is the best of country songs done in a way that will appeal to a braod spectrum of listeners. Way to go Ann!!!

What A Wonderful World

I Ll Always Love You/Somebodys

These were the first two Anne Murray albums I ever bought, and they sound as fresh today as they did when they were new. I was so happy to see them both offered as one unit.

"Somebody's Waiting" is definitely my favorite of the two albums, but they are both excellent. Unfortunately commercial success eluded the album, but I feel it was due more to the fact that it followed too closely behind "I'll Always Love You" and it's megahit singles "Broken Hearted Me" and "Daydream Believer" than to any lack of quality of the material included in "Somebody's Waiting". In fact, I think its highest charting single, "Lucky Me", is a much better song than either of the hits from "I'll Always Love You". ... Read More:

Yellow Guide To Opera (W/Spec

This product fails because there are several others on the market at half the price that are nearly as good or just as good.

"The Yellow Guide to Opera" is an excellent collection of 42 opera tracks that would please the ear of any novice or early-intermediate opera fan. In fact, the collection of tracks is to be commended for its richness and variety, including for example Russian composers. The sound quality is excellent, too.

The included booklet, however, is a real turkey, and seems to have been including for the purpose of getting you to buy more Deutsche Grammophon CDs. (Shame on them!)

Croonin

This is a group of songs that were some of Anne Murray's favorites when she was growing up in the fifties, and for my money, each is a new and improved version. As a professional musician, I am just SO impressed by the wonderful arrangements, terrific instrumental performances, and, of course, the beautiful and classy voice of Anne Murray that make this a CD you will listen to over and over. And there are so many songs on it that you won't get tired of hearing them. Most are ballads. I dare you to try to be stressed out after listening to this CD for even a short time. My cassette player ate the Croonin' tape and I was in absolute withdrawal until I purchased the CD. Enjoy.

The Best of the Season

Anne recorded two seasonal albums in the eighties - Christmas wishes in 1981 and Anne Murray Christmas in 1988. This compilation contains all the tracks from those two albums plus one extra track, The season will never grow old..

Among the classic Christmas songs that everybody knows, I particularly like her version of Silver bells, but Anne is also in top form on Joy to the world, Little drummer boy, White Christmas, It came upon the midnight clear, I'll be home for Christmas, Do you hear what I hear, O holy night, Winter wonderland, Go tell it on the mountain, The Christmas song, O come all ye faithful, Away in a manger, We three kings, Mary's boy child and Silent night.
