Over the years, there have only been a small handful of bands that have released three consecutive #1 albums; Van Halen, Metallica and U2 to name a few. Disturbed is part of that group. This disc is the band's follow up to "Ten Thousand Fists" and there's no danger of their winning streak being broken any time soon as this is lucky number 3 for the band. When the band released their first CD, "The Sickness", in 2000, they were lumped in with a batch of other new bands at the time under the 'Nu Metal' tag but that label really didn't fit this band as Disturbed stood apart from that crowd with more melodic songs and David Draiman's unique vocal prowess and trademark grunts. Ten Thousand Fists

Do any of you remember Believe? It had melodic singing, excellent guitar work, but something was missing... the "awesomeness" from the first cd. Disturbed tries to emulate the recordings through their newest, 10,000 fists.

Let me just say, it may have a more mainstream sound, but it is clearly a highlight in today's society with no guitar solos, Disturbed shows that their lead sure can play some sick licks if he feels up to it, which shows that they aren't bad.

Sure, this album has some political material in it, but there is never so much that is an tired left-fisted throwdown like what has happened to many bands against the administrations.

Sickness, the

Finding a nu-metal band that carries out explosions of energy is hard to find these days, it is either a pre-heated angst band (near goth) or is a band that sounds like they're trying way to hard to be black.

Disturbed is a step forward, learning to roll with the punches, they have figured out that you can't always get what you want, so life is a party.

This is a very good album, but there is 1-2 tracks that are a little boring, so I decided to dock a star for that, unfortunately this isn't a perfect album.

Believe

If you have heard Disturbed's "The Sickness" and loved it (who wouldn't?), then expect to be surprised by this sophomore effort: whether the surprise is a pleasant one or not will largely depend on whether you expect this album to sound like the first one.

"Believe" is NOT a reprise of "The Sickness"; in fact, some of the songs sound so different from those of the first album, it is almost shocking. "Devour" was such an instance of utter surprise for me, and not an entirely pleasant one at that: it is, after all, a ballad (yikes!), and it seems so completely at odd with the rest of the album, I'm still debating on whether or not I like it at all.

Generally, "Believe" does not have quite as hard a sound as "The Sickness" ... Read More:

TO ALL DISTURBED FANS:
guys, theres no point in buying this, just go and buy the normal edition for a cheap price. i think theres one or 2 bonus traks on this version, but theyre definately not worth the extra money plus shipping. go and buy the normal version and then jus download the bonus traks from limewire or torrent or wherever. the bonus traks i have are: hell, monster, sickened, dehumanized, two worlds. hopefully, the other B-side trak CRIMINAL will be released soon. or it might be just a myth :(
