I received this as a gift at Christmas and I just love it. Even though I have all of his albums which include most of these songs, there are quite a few that I didn't have. You just can't beat his soulful voice. This is a great addition to any fans collection.

The two previous reviews have it right. As an older fan who has followed Judas Priest from the early 80's, this album is a welcome relief from the dirth of power chord only nu metal and shock rock which requires little or no musical virtuosity. Priest have proven themselves over the years and a concept is nothing new to older Rock fans and for a major band to produce one today is risky. For the skeptical, please listen to this album in it's entirety. It's not the type of album that is a all catchy hooks and chorus. The music will diversify with each listen. Remember, these guys are the pros and they have deliver the goods. For the fans that want straight ahead power chords and metal riffs this album ... Read More:

Anyone growing up in the early 1980's would remember this version of Sabbath.
After two horrible records with Ozzy (Never Say Die, Technical Ecstasy) the band finally fired Ozzy (Don't get me wrong the first four Sabbath CD'd with Ozzy are near perfect CD's)and picked up ex Rainbow singer Ronnie James Dio. This line up of Dio, Iommi, Butler and Appice (Bill Ward Plays on Heaven and Hell but not the rest)put out two of the best metal records of the 1980's. Heaven and Hell and the Mob Rules are solid CD's from start to finish. There is no way to over praise these two records. Then came the double live CD Live Evil. Disc one is heavy and tight. Ronni is in great voice and the mix is amazing. The second disc is good but it suffers from what all 80's live ... Read More:

iN RAINBOWS is currently my favorite cd. I wanted to purchase other Radiohead releases. Especially noting that much of their past material is highly rated. Also, for a band having only 7 studio albums, and yet be in the top 100 best bands of all time according to Rolling Stone magazine (at # 73 ) is quite amazing.
Well, all of Radiohead's past studio releases, and including I Might Be Wrong:Live Recordings - added up to well over 100.00 without tax if bought individually. So this is a steal. And, currently this box set is listed at 71.99 US on Amazon.com. This really is a best buy!!!!!

Five decades since a Memphis shop front gave birth to what would become one of the greatest catalogues in music, it seems ownership rights have finally fallen into caring hands.
Expect all manner of tasty repackages in the offing, but there's no finer way to get the party started than with this excellent 50-track overview. Most of the obvious tunes are here, but this set scores by including some of the cuts that crept under the radar in the 60s and 70s only to be rediscovered by another generation's beat alchemists.
Linda Lyndell's proto-funk monster "What A Man", the aching hurt of William Bell's "I Forgot To Be Your Lover" and Johnnie Taylor's soul deep "Jody's Got Your Girl" all stand well alongside the better known gems.

Not necessarily great for the casual fan. This album was good for me because I never got to see Trane play live but I often heard about his marathon performances. Most of the live stuff by trane, though was made for albums and the songs are relatively abbreviated. This album gives us that glimpse of him laying it all out there in a spiritual ecstacy. It is definitely possible to sit through each of these huge songs and listen to it note for note. The music is intense, beautiful and raw. If you just want something pretty to play for your girlfriend over dinner, though, look somewhere else.

I just got off the plane from my latest trip to Jamaica and Marley is still king. This is the best compilation ever and is a must have for all Marley fans. The linear notes/booklet that accompanies this is worth the 50 bucks alone.
