this cd's on a lot at work, and i have to say that it isn't that bad to listen to. if left to my own devices, i would probably only listen to one or two songs of my own volition, but the cd in itself has a nice easy flow to it. some songs can be rather melancholy if you're in the appropriate mood, but on the whole i'd say it's a light-hearted, easy-going album. at the very least worth a listening to, even in passing.

I have all her CD's & I am a true Madonna fan for the past 20 years!
Sadly, I have to admit that this CD is not that great, I bought it because I get everything from Madonna, but this CD is absolutely not the best. You will enjoy about 4 songs in total!

The ever-enduring crooner returns with a collection of stripped-back, simple songs diverging how it feels to be reaching the twilight of life. Yet Van Morrison keeps all the controlled energy of someone who still has something to pass on to the world.
"Keep It Simple" is a mainly bluesy affair. He's returned to the usual mixture of autobiographical fare and the kind of mix of jazz, folk, blues, country and soul that may be chock-full of lyrical cliche but is always lifted by a voice that really hasn't deteriorated much in the last twenty years. Let's face it: the blues wouldn't be the blues without it's lyrical template. It's the way it's sung that matters, and Van is still peerless in this respect.
Husky, slurred, simple yet honest, the album ... Read More:

If you enjoyed the movie Juno, then you should listen to this soundtrack.
If you hated the movie, then you should still listen to this soundtrack.

As a student of mid 80's REM I am most comfortable with a little edge in their music. Notable albums like Reckoning, Life's Rich Pageant and Document are a diary of my college years. In saying this I by no means suggest that the post Document era was not creative. However, the last four albums from Adventures to New York were sombre and tired. I had lost interest in the band. On a nostalgic whim I bought this album and am very impressed with the tone and energy. clealry they have come full circle and now feel inclined to pick up the pace and put some more Rock in their roll. There are several slower tracks as well that are very good. It makes me very happy to get excited about REM again. Well done gentlemen, good to have you back!

OK, it IS a bit of a blast from the past but I LOVE the idea of having two women singing duets. We live in Canada. We celebrate life and love. The album is like a giant gift . I so hope Anne Murray will continue for years to come.

This is a strong debut album from X-Factor winner Leona Lewis, the only potential problems being a surfeit of ballads, and a large dose of overexposure. The British born singer/songwriter is of Guyanese/Welsh parentage, and was no stranger to performing before catching the eye of Simon Cowell, who moved heaven, earth and Clive Davis to ensure that this album had all the backing it needed.
Even before the album was released, she already had a hit single with her version of the Kelly Clarkson song "A Moment Like This", which can be found as a bonus on the UK version of the album. Please note that the track listing for the UK Version is different to the US and Canadian releases. The songs "Forgive Me" (produced by Akon) and "Misses Glass" on this version ... Read More:

I watched this movie last night, by chance, having never heard of it before, and the one thing that really captivated me was the music. It's beautiful. Not too polished, but full of heart. I immediately went online to see if there was a soundtrack. I can't wait to go buy the cd! I recommend this to anyone who enjoys beautiful, moving music...

After the large success of TEOM, high expectations were set for this album. After the triumphant pose and feel of TEOM, I did not expect this CD.
Album Cover: 1/5
Okay, I'll admit it, I absolutely hate this album cover. The cover of TEOM took Mariah's artwork to new heights, but this just made it crash down again. Mariah looks thin, even anorexic, on this cover, doubtless due to extensive photoshop because of the recent criticism of her weight. When I first saw this cover, it was on a website, and it only showed the top half of the cover. I was very disappointed, but I did not really hate it. Then I scrolled down and saw the giant L.A. style letters and I was like, WHAT? Overall, this might be the worst album cover to come out this year.

Jack Johnson's at it again with his fifth album, Sleep Through the Static. For any Jack Johnson fan this is a must have as Jack continues to come through with laid-back, feel-good songs. I would say, however, for anyone looking for their first Jack Johnson CD, that this is not the one to start off with. While it is a good album, some of his earlier albums, namely In Between Dreams and Curious George are better in my opinion.
