New Kids on the Block dominated the music scene in the late 80s and early 90s with five top ten singles from one album. Not many artists have accomplished that. Reached the top ten for the first time with Please Don't Go Girl, #1 with Hangin' Tough and I'll Be Lovin' You (Forever), #2 with Cover Girl and #3 with You Got It (The Right Stuff). In the late 80s, New Kids on the Block was on top of the world and let's face it, Hangin' Tough was one of the best albums in the late 80s.

New Kids on the Block sold millions of records and this album proved that they were the real deal and had staying power.

They proved that they weren't one hit wonders.

Step by Step

In 1990, New Kids on the Block once again dominated the charts with Step By Step. Reached #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart and remained there for three weeks. Step By Step topped the album charts in both Canada and the United States. Tonight reached the top ten peaking at #7 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart. Games and Let's Try It Again were overlooked by radio for the most part- which is a shame. I thought Let's Try It Again and Games were great songs.

Step By Step showed growth and maturity from New kid On the block.

Step by Step is a great album and New Kids on the Block's second #1 album.

I don't think that I can be terribly articulate about this or explain the reasons this album resonated with me so strongly. I think it is just the sheer quality of the material and mastery of the artist.

I apologize in advance if the vagueness of this review is not terribly helpful. But, I must say that as a musicholic, it is very rare for me to react in so strongly a fashion upon first listen. I encourage you to listen to the bits and pieces you can find online to see for yourself. The hooks, vocals, tunes and melodies have totally grabbed me. I can't remember the last time that I felt that I was hearing something brilliant after listening one time. I'm on my second listen right now and it not only holds up, I'm increasingly impressed ... Some amazing music and some filler and loads of creepy sound effects. The Wall is Pink Floyd's or should I say Water's most ambitious project. An epic double lp that is overly long to say the least. The concept of this lp suffers from being overly complex and not that clear ( to me at least).

However, lots of great classic Floyd tunes like Comfortably Numb, Mother, Goodbye Blue Sky, and Another Brick in the Wall Part 2. Pink FLoyd's last great album is not a masterpiece but is essential none the less.

Some amazing music and some filler and loads of creepy sound effects. The Wall is Pink Floyd's or should I say Water's most ambitious project. An epic double lp that is overly long to say the least. The concept of this lp suffers from being overly complex and not that clear ( to me at least).

However, lots of great classic Floyd tunes like Comfortably Numb, Mother, Goodbye Blue Sky, and Another Brick in the Wall Part 2. Pink FLoyd's last great album is not a masterpiece but is essential none the less.

Cretu is back with his proven formula, european pop with exotic vocals. If you are expecting a huge change, this is not the case but if you give it a chance, it will grow on you. The new Dido is quite good Safe Trip Home. I also would recommend an ethereal female vacalist named Marcomé, River Of Soul, very ambient too as a complement to Enigma.

A Very Special Christmas is the first in an excellent series of Christmas music CDs that no fan of holiday tunes can afford to be without. The quality of the sound is great and the diversity of the artists means that there's practically something for everyone on the CD.

Several highlights on this album come to mind right away. I like The Pointer Sisters doing an awesome job on "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town;" they harmonize well and the percussion along with the arrangement gives this holiday classic just a twist of a more modern, jazzy flavor. The Eurythmics also do a great job on "Winter Wonderland;" the melody moves along very well and they use the percussion well. This is one of my most favorite New Order albums! I love it so much I have two copies. I first bought it in the 80's and was blown away by it's unique sound. Your Silent Face struck me at first and Age of Consent is simply awesome! Some new fans might not appreciate it as much but with all the other crap out there this is the real deal that inspired a lot of other bands.

This is one of my most favorite New Order albums! I love it so much I have two copies. I first bought it in the 80's and was blown away by it's unique sound. Your Silent Face struck me at first and Age of Consent is simply awesome! Some new fans might not appreciate it as much but with all the other crap out there this is the real deal that inspired a lot of other bands.

Greatest Hits: We Will Rock Yo

For a Greatest Hits -collection, this is an excellent one. Containing all Queen-hits from 1974-1980, CD provides a lot of pure listening fun.

Casual fans make a good buy with this, but required is Greatest Hits II containing later hits by Queen, from 1982-1991. With these two you get a pretty good view for why Queen was and still is so special.

So why purchase this edition and not the older one? (Greatest Hits originally in vinyl 1981) Well, as technology develops, we get better sound with these newer CDs.
Also, this disc contains a rare singles edition of I'm In Love With My Car (from A Night At The Opera -album), not included in the original edition. It's a good song, well worth listening, to put it mildly.
