I found this album in my local library and thought I'd give it a spin. Oh my god, what beautiful music. The vocals are exceptional, and the arrangements really top-notch. I grew up a huge Abba fan, and I can see some similarities in the music if not the lyrics. Also, I found it interesting just now that Amazon paired the album with the Travelling Wilbury's. I don't want to attempt to draw any comparisons between the two. But I will say that Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne are my other two huge favourites, so maybe there's something to that. This is the sort of album I just want others to hear for themselves. It was a serendipitous find, for sure.

I've listened to my wife's copy, and after listening to this pile of whatever you want to call it, all I can say is ugh! First of all, it pretty much sounds like any other Celine Dion CD, and even they all pretty much sound like each other. And "Taking Chances"? Talk about playing it safe! Her version of "Alone" sounds like she swiped the backing track and sang karaoke to it! Why bother doing a cover tune when it sounds so much like the original? Maybe it's just me, but I don't get it. The backing music on this CD, as on the rest of her CDs, is so generic that it could've been made by anyone - it has absolutely no personality. Her music has no identifiable sound whatsoever! Great singing is not only about hitting notes that most people only dream ... Read More:

Seeing as this product has yet to be released I cannot review it just yet. However if the first single "Invece No" is any indication, we appear headed into classic Laura Pausini emotive balladeer territory, the Laura we knew pre-English album, pre- cathartic rocker Resta In Ascolto and pre-cool covers disc Io Canto.
I am writing now to ask Amazon Canada to give us Italian music fans the option of a "better together" deal with Laura Pausini's album "Primavera in anticipo" (ie. this one) and Tiziano Ferro's "Alla mia eta". I have seen these deals before with Italian CDs. If there's no deal by November 25th, I am just going to go to HMV, because now, at least for Laura's album the price is exactly the same.

When you're born with the ability to sing like Katie Melua, they could set a shopping list in front of you and you'll break people's hearts singing it.
Katie has a timeless voice and on her latest album she has chosen a set of blues-based songs that set it off perfectly.
Huge natural talent was always going to secure Katie Melua's future, the excellence of "Piece By Piece" will simply reinforce her arrival as major force.
Nonetheless, her latest offering does not surpass in beauty and success her debut album (which became Britain's biggest seller and has so far attracted three million copies world-wide).
The album does occasionally reach out to a potentially wider fanbase thanks to its ability to draw on a number of influences and ... Read More:

Like Colin James, I'm a musician living in Vancouver, and his sometime bassist Doug Elliott also plays with my band, but that's not why I recommend this album. "Christmas" is the latest in a long series of Little Big Band projects stretching back to 1992, and Colin has a deft way with the jump-blues guitar-horns-organ format, which he revived long before Brian Setzer.
What that means is this album, though it contains both traditional chestnuts ("I'll Be Home for Christmas," "Let It Snow," "Baybe It's Cold Outside") and some swingin' alternatives ("Cool Yule," "Boogie Woogie Santa Claus," the gospel-style "Go Where I Send Thee"), is remarkably refreshing in the sea of sappy-sweet versions you hear this time of year. Colin swings and shimmies and leaves ... Read More:

Highway to Hell is considered by many to be AC/DC's best work. I agree that it is their best with Bon Scott but not their best overall.
AC/DC again explored some bluesey riffs on Walk All Over You and Night Prowler but they had honed the skill since 1976's Dirty Deeds. Don't get me wrong this is a heavy album. One of their heaviest. The songwriting is excellent the Young brothers' guitar work is crisp and clean and Scott's vocals are delivered with his trademark snarl.
This is an outstanding album and should be a staple in any hard rock/metal fans collection.
