I think any music lover, and especially those who love classical, will want to take a look at this boxed set and The Fellowship of The Ring, Complete Recordings for the same reason. It is fabulous.

The boxed set, come in a square box that is roughly length of a hand. It opens with the DVD audio version on the left. A book placemarker over the remaining set to the right. There's a beautiful 43 and 45 page booklet, respectively (That is, Fellowhip, Two Towers-- in order) and not as noted as a 48-page. I've just finished watching the movie again for what seems like the hundredth time and I think that the music is a major reason the movie was so good. "Ain't No Sunshine" is a classic heartbreak song that moves you as does Al Green's "...Broken Heart". For me personally Costello's ballad "She" is perfection in it's effort to convey the mood of the scenes it's in, so perfect, that it's going to be the song sung by my good friend at my wedding.

Not many people have a musical written around their voice, but that's what Andrew Lloyd Webber did for ex-wife Sarah Brightman, by creating the classic "Phantom of the Opera" musical. And in "The Andrew Lloyd Webber Collection," Brightman sings various songs from Webber's works -- some mesh with her voice, and some don't.

It starts off on a strong note with the gothic "The Phantom Of The Opera," a duet with Michael Crawford. Following that is the ethereal "Unexpected Song," the rich but forgettable "Chanson D'Enfance," and the enchanting "All I Ask Of You," a duet with Cliff Richards. I couldn't believe my eyes when i saw some of the things people were writing in regards to the comparison of the two casts. I do agree that Gerard Butler's voice was more appropriate for the role than Michael Crawford. I liked the untrained voice because where would the Phantom have gotten classical training anyways?? One thing I can never say however is that Emmy Rossum was in any magnitude as good as Sarah Brightman. For example, Emmy Rossum had trouble hitting all the high notes! Since this was pre recorded and not a live performance, I was expecting to hear a much better and stronger Christine. One thing I found though was that the supporting cast in both productions was excellent, especially both Steve Barton(Original Raoul) and Patrick Wilson(Movie ... Read More:

I picked up this CD shortly after its release, and it's been a constant in my CD player ever since. I'm a fan of the Broadway show, so I was a little unsure of how I'd feel about this, but I was pleasantly surprised. There's a lot of wonderful talent singing their hearts out for this soundtrack, and some nice little surprises thrown in.

Good Morning, Baltimore: A wonderful way to open the CD and introduce the world to Nikki Blonsky's larger-than-life voice. This song is a lot of fun, with a great beat, and wonderful vocals - 9/10

I've been listening to this CD since its debut over 15 years ago and it is still in my top 10 of all-time. Exquisite compositions combined with expert keyboard artistry add up to a collector's item. It is emotional music done with superb sensitivity.
