Nadia

directed by: Alan Cooke

I saw a small part of this movie on the Internet, and from what I saw, it was pretty good. I just wish I could see the whole movie!

The gymnastic sequences were very well done, although some of the editing was pretty bad.

If you can get your hands on this movie, than I think you should see it, because it deserves to be seen.

For Keeps

starring: Molly Ringwald, John Zarchen, Pauly Shore, Randall Batinkoff, Kenneth Mars
directed by: John G. Avildsen

June 22, 1994
For Keeps where shall I start. For Keeps is one of those 80's movies that would fit perfect on The Lifetime Network. Molly Ringwald stars as Darci Elliot and Randall Batinkoff stars as Stan Bobrutz (intentional hard to spell and pronoucne name, it is the butt of several jokes in the film). The two high school sweethearts are sent fast forward into adult hood when Darci becomes pregnant. They struggle to stay together. I think this film is great because it shows young people just how hard things can be when you introduce a baby into the picture. It is not one of those happily ever after stories, Stan and Darci go through some real hard times. The movie itself takes a real awkward turn towards the end with Darci pushing Stan to pursue his ... Network

starring: Faye Dunaway, William Holden, Peter Finch, Robert Duvall, Wesley Addy
directed by: Sidney Lumet

May 07, 1996
this is a pretty good movie, all things considered.the acting was really
good,as was the writing, there is some great dialogue here.i think the
movie could have been a bit shorter.i also found it kinda bleak, just
the whole idea that we only know what big conglomerates that own the
media, specifically TV news, want us to know.since this movie was mad In
1976,it was certainly ahead of its time,in that viewpoint.whether all
that is true or not,i don't know.either way, this movie is certainly
very thought provoking and brings up interesting issues.based on
that,and the acting and writing,i give Network a 3.5/5

True Romance

starring: Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Hopper, Val Kilmer, Gary Oldman
directed by: Tony Scott

November 06, 2001
This is really a masterpiece. A violent masterpiece, yes, but a masterpiece nonetheless. Christian Slater must look back on this film with a sense of longing because he has not been given as good a project since (Churchill: The Hollywood Years, anyone?). Many people brand this movie as a narcissistic teenage boy's wet dream. Well it's not. This is supposed to be a "fairy tale" I mean he's a film geek and she's a hot girl. Well it turns out this hot girl likes movies and comics to so they get married. Tarantino didn't set out to make a fairy tale when he wrote it but the changes that Tony Scott made (as small as they were) really changed the theme of the movie and made it lighter and more like a fairy tale.

Eye of the Sparrow

starring: Mare Winningham, Keith Carradine, Sandy McPeak, Kaaren Lee, Conchata Ferrell
directed by: John Korty

July 01, 2001
This TVM is based on the (presumably true) lives of Ethel and James Lee, a blind couple who were the first to legally adopt children in America. What distinguishes the teleplay by Barbara Turner is her presentation of the couple played by Mare Winningham and Keith Carradine as individuals, in spite of being blind. Often writers are tempted to make martyrs of those living with handicaps, in the "testament to the human spirit" nauseating genre, but Turner avoids that sanctimoniousness. These people are extraordinary and not just for being blind. Since the narrative begins with Ethel Lee as a child, Turner's focus is more on Winningham, than Carradine, and Winningham gives her Ethel a subtle eccentricity. Winningham soars over her "I'm playing ... Read More:
