THE CRYING GAME teaches the lesson that terrorists have relationship problems just as messy as other folks.
Jody (Forrest Whitaker), a British soldier stationed in Northern Ireland, is ensnared in a honeytrap by Jude (Miranda Richardson), kidnapped, and held by Irish militants threatening his execution unless one of their own is released by the British authorities. One of Jody's captors is Fergus (Stephen Rea), who forms a sympathetic bond with his prisoner. At one point, Jody shares a photo of his significant other, Dil (Jaye Davidson), living in London, and exacts a promise from Fergus such that, in case he (Jody) is executed, Fergus will search out Dil and share drinks at the local pub. Jody fails to regain his freedom, but not ... Read More:

The film itself is a classic, from the soundtrack (which features recently broken-up members of The Eagles), Stevie Nicks, and Jackson Browne. Cameron Crowe wrote the true story of teenagers in late 70s San Diego (Clairemont High) from his own perspective, originally written for Rolling Stone magazine. Because he looked so young at the time, he was able to go to school and fit in. Even though Crowe changed the city to the LA area (the movie also takes place in LA), the Clairemont High schoolers were upset with a lot of it. "Rat" is now the writer of some of the "Dummies" books.
The film itself is an essential 80s comedy classic, a lot of subjects bold at the time, a lot of new talent to move on to bigger paychecks ... Read More:

Sorry, this film is best left forgotten. Cornball to the extreme, but without the irony. Ray Liotta and Kathy Baker as romantic interests. It's enough to make you puke in your popcorn. One of the truly worst movie-going experiences of my life. Avoid!

There are a lot of reasons to love this movie - It's a great coming of age tale, a solid 80's high school film - and all the reasons that other reviewers have already shared... but it stands out, in my opinion, for providing the most elegant argument for why we as a society love sports and athletes Towards the end of the movie one of the charachters gives a little pep talk about watching Pele play soccer... "and I tell you I started crying... yeah that's right I started cryin..."

The film, contains two main characters, the bomb man staring Tommy Lee Jones and his old time friend who tries to stop him staring Jeff Bridges. Both are Irish.
The problem with this movie is that in that small little paragraph I just wrote above, it tells you practically the whole plot of the movie. The movie is overrated. The film is so similar to other bomb films, making it too predictable and is like a copy of other films but with change of this and that. There are few actions that can actually be called action. It doesn't surprise me much, the action isn't very "thrilling", the character, pointing towards Jeff Bridges, is very weak in acting. He doesn't create the atmosphere or charm to bring the audience in and make the movie successful. ... Read More:

"Only the dead have seen the end of war" Plato once said, and this film offers a searing truth about war, in particular the war in Vietnam that people should see.
Platoon offers an anti-war statement that I feel rings much truer then Full Metal Jacket or Hamburger Hill. It portrays the violence without celebrating it in the least. Platoon shows you what war really does; lives are lost, but so is innocence, and in Platoon we see young men who think they are helping there country, when they are really destroying themselves. I sat there shocked as the soldiers massacre a village of innocent civilians, and images of that scene still haunt me today. It is shocking, but it isn't gratuitous; it shows you what violence really is. Ugly and distasteful, harmful to the persecuted ... Read More:

Bloodsport marks Jean-Claude van Damme first starring role.it is
possibly his best movie to date,as far as martial arts action goes.the
fights in this scene are spectacular and very violent.Van Damme stars
as Frank Dux,who (for reasons i won't give away here)decides to enter a
secret and brutal full contact fighting competition held in Hong Kong
only once every 5 years.the best of the best from all around the world
come to the event in hopes of becoming champion.Dux hopes to become the
1st westerner to win it all.but before the tournament even begins,Dux
has a complication to contend with.i won't say what that complication
is,but let's just say it provides some comic relief in the film.if you
haven't seen the movie i won't give any more ... Read More:
