this is a very well done and engaging political thriller.it's base on an event which may or may not have occurred in 1984.it's about a rogue Russian Submarine that has disappeared and may be headed toward American territory.the question is,why?both the Russians and the U.S are hunting the sub and have their own reasons for doing so.but time is of the essence.the movie is basically a psychological suspense thriller.this isn't what i would call a nail biting movie, though it does has its moments.it's more of a character study,of one man in particular, the commander of the Russian sub.the last 30 minutes or so are quite tense and down to the wire.the whole movie is highly dramatic but not at all boring, thanks to good writing and directing.Larry ... i believe this film pales in comparison to the original 1962
version.for one thing,i found it way too mean spirited and overly
gruesome.i just don't think it needed to be that violent to tell this
particular story.i also didn't like the way religion was used one of
the motivating factors behind Cady's revenge.there are some good things
about he movie, though.one is the acting.Robert Deniro Plays max
Cady, who after spending 14 years in jail, seeks revenge on his layer(and
his family),who he believes helped put him in jail.Nick Nolte is Sam
Bowden, the lawyer.DeNiro is very good as Cady.one look at him and you'd
have no trouble believing he is capable of anything.Nolte is also good

Ray Levoi (Val Kilmer), a promising East Cost FBI agent is assigned to a case. He assumes this is in the latter to promotion. Yet he is informed it is in an Indian reservation and that he is Indian and it is more diplomatic. The reality as in most of these stories is that there is a more nefarious purpose in mind.
Will Levoi discover the real purpose of his assignment?
Will Levoi ferret out Whodunnit?
Will Levoi finger out what was done?
How will he handle confronting remnants of his unknown past culture?
A Major catalyst and almost the narrator of the story is Graham Greene. Born in Six Nations Reserve, Ontario, Canada and Graduate of The Centre for Indigenous Theatre's Native Theatre School. He gives a true native feeling to ... Read More:

This movie is very choppy- may different things going on-hard to figure out the point--although William Petersen is as sexy and handsome as on CSI- only younger-- what expression's he has on his beautiful face- can't quite figure out WHY? he never made a BIG film-like Tom Cruise-he's every bit as good- & so georgeous to look at-what a face--YUM-YUM

After the original Die Hard the plot in this was lame. What really ruined it for me however was the excessive use of profanity. One can only deduce based on this and several other movies that those in the US armed forces need to a) drastically need to increase their vocabulary or b) need to take ESL classes, there is no way any of them could have passed English in any level of school. The script writers must have experience with the way US armed forces personel speak otherwise they could not have come up with this garbage. As I have already stated, it isn't just this movie that has this kind of portrayal, obciously the education system in the US is a miserable failure or maybe only imbeciles are allowed into the armed forces.

I have enjoyed watching this movie everytime I see it. For the past couple years I haven't been able to find it by renting it, but I've finally ordered it online. This is such a great movie because it is about being the only two females in their training group and succeeding beyond anyones amazement. I too am going to college for my BA in Law Enforcement and wish to become an FBI agent and this is such a great movie because it gives me a silly sense of what to expect or not to expect. I know this was done in 1988 but still, its a weird way of being goofy with FBI agents.

Having lived around the outskirts of Washington, D.C. myself, it's always a nice treat to watch a film that literally takes place right where I have stood, at one time or another. It's just very fun to know that a famous movie was shot where you once walked. (Although I now regret visiting the set of "101 Dalmations" in London--that's one story I don't often tell people with a smile on my face.)
At the beginning of "No Way Out," we get to see Washington from above as the camera glides through the air, swerving and going around in circles, until we land inside a small interrogation room housing a convicted murderer (Kevin Costner), who is in fact innocent and has been framed. "When's he coming out?" he asks as he walks over to a one-way mirror and looks through the glass. Right as we start ... Read More:

This is a very enjoyable movie, and one of the best in the legal drama genre. Gene Hackman is typically brilliant, mixing humor and anger in the most believable and human way. This was the first time I saw Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, who proves herself a very capable actress, never once seeming overpowered by Hackman. She's also stunningingly beautiful (which has nothing to do with acting, but it doesn't hurt). Laurence Fishburn also puts in a powerful supporting role, as does the city of San Francisco, which always looks beautiful and inviting on film and this is no exception. The only thing missing is a DVD version. It's almost become a cliche to ask, with all the garbage that's released on DVD, how can so many great movies languish for so long on VHS, utterly ignored by the studios? Who knows. But if you still ... Read More:
