Wynona Ryder has always been one of my all time favs. People always say this is a chick flick but it's much more than that. The performances are top of the line and the film manages to take a very sensitive subject matter (mental illness) and balance it with the right amount of comedy and drama. I get so angry with some of these institutions and their treatment of vulnerable women so films like this help to bring attention to people struggling with demons. Angelina Jolie is superb in this film. This is one of my favorite Jolie films.

this movie,is in my mind,one of the better of the horror genre.it has a clever premise.the characters are well written and strong.there are a lot of potential suspects that could be the killer,and they all have compelling motives.the movie may not be wholly original,but it think its basic premise is.i also found it unpredictable.i had no idea for sure who the killer might be.and i think the movie is tightly written enough that it doesn't give you any clear idea who the killer is.i'm certain there are inconsistencies and tiny plot holes,and i mean tiny.not even holes really.more like little divetts.unless you're looking for things wrong with the movie,i don't think you'll find them.if a movie has blatant holes and absurd leaps of logic,that's one thing.i ... My evaluation of this monstrously nasty film is that the director Harron is on another one of her grand experiments with modern filming. This time she's found another questionable American archetype - the successfully wealthy, greedy, amoral investor banker from Wall Street - and elevated him in god-like fashion, only to have him ruthlessly destroy himself by yielding to the worst vice possible: a serious lack of respect for life. How she contrives this story makes the movie worth watching. Everything in the story line is a metaphor for what has gone wrong in the Age of Reaganomics, where the lust for money is truly in Harron's mind the root of all evil. This is a well-acted drama that moves slowly as the killer slashes his way across three western states in a cat-and-mouse game with the law. A stoic Dennis Quaid is the FBI agent whose son is kidnapped by a too-clever serial killer. It's familiar plot sometimes brilliantly played out. Set against the splendor of Colorado's moutains and the gritty little towns along this bloody trail, the film is visually arresting and disquieting. Quaid's character is the odd man in this story populated with common folks, petty criminals and hapless lawmen. The director's decision to give this character such a starkly contrasting personality may be regrettable. Quaid's rendering stretches credulity. This movie is amazing, I have to watch it before all of my big track and cross country meets. It is very inprational and one of the best movies I have ever seen. If you are a runner this movie inspires you to be even better that you could possibly imagine. If you don't have it, get it. It is worth it.

This movie is amazing, I have to watch it before all of my big track and cross country meets. It is very inprational and one of the best movies I have ever seen. If you are a runner this movie inspires you to be even better that you could possibly imagine. If you don't have it, get it. It is worth it.
