this movie,is in my mind, one of the better of the horror genre.it has a clever premise.the characters are well written and strong.there are a lot of potential suspects that could be the killer, and they all have compelling motives.the movie may not be wholly original, but it think its basic premise is.i also found it unpredictable.i had no idea for sure who the killer might be.and i think the movie is tightly written enough that it doesn't give you any clear idea who the killer is.i'm certain there are inconsistencies and tiny plot holes, and i mean tiny.not even holes really.more like little divetts.unless you're looking for things wrong with the movie,i don't think you'll find them.if a movie has blatant holes and absurd leaps of logic, that's ... It's too bad that you don't have negative ratings, because I would give this film a negative five. Absolutely the worst movie ever made. Mekhi Phifer is one of my favorite character actors, and to have him cast in a movie of this low caliber is just regretable. The stereotypical humor was insulting and was not funny. The only thing keeping me from rating this film below a negative five is the fact that the sound and picture quality are good.

I remembered this fondly as a great campy movie with the best death scene ever. Watching it now, I realize I saw this a long time ago and my memory of it is better then the original. From horrible acting that isn't horrible enough to be funny, horrible sound quality that is near inexcusable, editing that created more holes then Tim Hortons, and actors in their 30s playing High School Teenagers. It all should have been horribly amusing, but no it was just horribly bad. There's still some funny stuff, but overally this moves not even bad enough to be good.
The only thing that gives this more then one star is PeeWee's performance and the fact that Ben Afleck is in this movie (how many people noticed that!)

well it is safe to say that I survived this movie but I didnt quite like it all that much. there were things about it that were just too blah. Dina Meyer(Starship Troopers, Johnny Mnemonic) is the hottie in this movie. Todd Field(Eyes Wide Shut, Twister) is the cool guy in this movie. Mackenzie Astin(Sean Astin's brother) is the crazy guy in this movie and Natasha Gregson Wagner(Modern Vampires, Another Day In Paradise) is the annoying one in this movie. Field has written a book called Stranger Than Fiction and he tells the tale to a man at a bar. Astin murders a gay police officer and things go downhill from there. It just spirals into twists that are far too perdictiable but some funny, like the hobo in the back of the car. The old lady had the funniest death ... Read More:
The other three customer/reviewers here are apparently unaware that this movie is based on the true story (mid-60s) of the Pied Piper of Tucson (Charles Schmid) who is far more weird than the movie's main character and who murdered three women while posing as the Elvis of Arizona. Charlie applied ManTan w/ a trowel, drew a huge "beauty" mark on the right side of his face, dyed his hair black and piled it to the sky and since he was only 5-3 he also wore huge boots stuffed full of newspaper, cans, etc. so he could be as tall as the high-schoolers he was running w/. He was 23. The movie is good in a whacked out kind of way, but the "true" story is far whackier. The Pied Piper got a double death sentence and 50 years for his three murders, got a reprieve ... I've seen this movie three times and I still don't understand it. This film is incredibly boring ( and I love Stephen Dorff! ), you'd have to to even sit through this for one minute. I like Reese too but they couldn't save this film. It flashes back and forth which is sickening. The movie itself is stifling. The flashbacks were the best part which had me wondering why the filmmakers didn't just show the hostage situation instead of making the film on the " aftermath " of it. Cliff Spab has to be the most boring character I've seen. He goes on and on about nothing. This character didn't showcase Stephen's true talents. All Spab did was smoke, have sex and complain about his little pathetic life yet you saw no true emotions from the guy. This movie is full of bad words, lackluster ... Read More:

This movie was stupid. It had a bad plot. It was very pointless. The only good thing about this movie was Robert Downey Jr's acting which was why I gave it 2 stars. The other 2 were good. But The plot...I'm not even gonna' start with the plot. The whole movie was stupid. I also don't get why this got an NC-17 rating. I don't want any dumb reviewer bad mouthing me just cause I don'get why this movie got an NC-17, I'm just wandering why it got it? It doesn't have any nudity or strong sexualy explicit nude scenes or what ever you call it. Unless if it was for that scene between Jr and Graham then that is dumb.
Over all if you like dumb comedies go and watch it..
