 Rating: - A great Hommage.Immediately after the release of this Cd Gidon Kremer gave a concert in Royal festival hall & brought the audience to their feet on a number of occasions. he next time he gave a concert a few years later he brought the audience to their knees with despair. his Cd however has the most superb collection of Piazzollas music & a Russian or Polish piece which rarely appears on tango CDs, to my knowledge only 3 times, which is great music to dance to. I absolutely love this CD and highly recommend it. Rating: - Marvellous PiazzollaHeard a group playing Piazzolla tangos on Radio 3 and wanted a CD, then had this CD recommended by a friend. It's great; so great I had to give it away as a Christmas present and I'll now have to get another copy. What I like is the way it treads the line between so-called classical and world musics. The rhythms, harmonies and instruments are more insistently involving than most classical but the complexity is still there. |
