Editorial Review: Amazon.co.uk Review: Metal Gear Solid is probably the best game ever to be made for the PlayStation and this additional special mission pack brings back the glory days. MGS Special Missions returns to the "Tactical Espionage Action", based mainly around the original VR training missions but with a few extra treats thrown in. Rumour has it that is was originally designed to entertain the Japanese gaming public without having to dive into MGS itself for a bit of action. The range of missions available varies as you progress through the game honing your skills. Most of the tasks only take a minute or two to complete, however, once you have put yourself through the paces in Special Missions, returning to the original MGS will reap rewards. Special Missions is very effective training, from sneaking without weapons to popping diazepam and honing your sniper skills. The game also contains some very bizarre levels and you get a chance to play the Ninja from MGS and get involved with some of the other characters. The graphics and sound are the same high quality as the original, and the controls are the same. If you have not played Metal Gear Solid it is advisable to play the original before getting into these extra missions. However, if you are an old MGS fan, then these missions will give you another chance to relive the magic.  Rating: - good follow up to MGSEnjoyed it- completed it in 5 days. You get 300+ VR missions, then get to play as the Ninja for 3 levels. They could have done more with it though, added a story mode for the Ninja, etc... Rating:  - how good is this?this game is really good because of all the extra missions and weapons and stuff like that. It is also good as a espionage game that you do actually have to be quite on otherwise you will die a bit like on splintercell Rating: - More of the greatest game in the world!You need the original Metal Gear Solid to play this game, so if you dont have it, buy that first, because that is the main game. There is no additional story in Special Missions, only VR missions. Sound and graphics are similar to the original, and the music are remixed versions of the 2 first (quite unknown) Metal Gear games. The only bad thing about the original game is that it is to short. When you finish it you only want more, then this game is what you need. Lots of crazy missions here, some examples are: BIG soldliers, "bowling" with enemies, find the murderer, play as Grey Fox!, photo mode with Naomi and Mei Ling.... and so on. You might get frustrated some times when you have problems with a level, but it feels ... Rating: - Highly addictive and by far the best game on playstation!This game is by far the best game on playstation. It has stunning graphics and a great storyline.
