Editorial Review:
Amazon.co.uk Review: WWF No Mercy picks up exactly where Wrestlemania 2000 left off, using the same wrestling engine as its predecessor, only with more wrestlers, more match types and other additions that will make hard-core wrestling fans devilishly happy.
For starters, there are 65-plus wrestlers, including old and new schoolers, tossed onto carefully copied sets like Wrestlemania and Smackdown. There are also new backstage areas, like the sharply detailed bar, which incorporates a pool table for optimal slammage.
New matches, such as the ladder match and guest referee match, offer numerous possibilities, like using the ladder as a springboard, or ignoring pins when taking control of the official. Weapons also abound, and now these items can be hurled around, even from the floor to the ring, where it's liable to hit a clueless opponent. A story mode adds tremendous replay value to this one, giving players the option of turning good or bad, with a variety of consequences based on that decision.
As stated, the game plays just like Wrestlemania 2000, meaning the same degree of slowdown and questionable artificial intelligence. The slowdown particularly hampers the game when many wrestlers take the ring at once, and it seems that this title pushes the N64 to the limit as far as on-screen action goes.
But the game's good points more than outweigh its bad, and all told, No Mercy will satisfy any wrestling fan looking for a taste of their favourite male melodrama. --Robb Guido

I have bought this game no less than 3 times, simply because I had someone nick this game off me twice. But without a doubt, its the best wrestling game ever made. There is so many different playing options and matches you can have, you really can't get bored with it. The create a wrestler mode is super (albeit slightly limited), but its fun. You can really mess around with the looks and clothes and weight of the wrestlers. So making the female wrestlers heavier than they look is so hilarious and funny. This was especially true when i was being challenged by my cocky older brother who thought he'd win with Triple H but lost to Trish, a girl cos I have secretly changed her weight so she's harder to lift up and beat. Happy days indeed. Game controls ... Read More:

WWF No Mercy, while old, still eclipses the WWE Smackdown games on the PS2, and I frequently hear people ask for the next Smackdown to be like No Mercy, or have things from No Mercy.
There is an in-depth season mode, while boring at times, has loads of storylines and will keep your in your seat for hours. The McMahons joining forces with you; reliving WrestleMania 2000 (fatal 4-way for WWE Title) and the like make this a great "Championship Mode".
Also, there are quite a lot of match types, all with fully customisable rules. Want a cage match where you can also win by making the opponent bleed? You got it. Want a match that can't be won? On here. The Create A PPV is also quite good, and you can have hours of fun with it.

If you're a fan of the WWF then u can't go wrong with this title! if not then u'll still get a very good fighting game for your money. This game is up to date with a very good championship mode, vastly improved over the one seen in WWF Wrestlemania 2000! With the inclusion of ladder matches, iron man matches and guest ref matches N64 WWF fans have finally got a wrestling game to compete with the Smackdown series! If u own an N64 and like fighting games then get this, it's one of the best on the system! thanx

In my point of view no mercy succeeds where wrestlemania 2000 went wrong, More than 65 different characters, all individual with their own pros and cons-where in wrestlemania all the characters were very similar. More types of matches are available- ladders, cage, and backstage fights are my favourite. The create-a-wrestler option breathes new life into the game when you are bored with the basic characters and you WILL want to use your own character if you are to succeed in the harder championship modes. Another option, the career mode (aka Championship) lets you go to the top and win belts to be used in single fights. In comparism to Smackdown 2 for the PSX, some people will find no mercy too slow but when you get used to it you will ... Read More:
