Amazon.co.uk Review: Ever fancied being the owner of an Alton Towers or Disney World from the comfort of your own home? Well here's your chance thanks to those wonderful people at BullFrog software and the PlayStation 2.
Based on the PC title of the same name, the aim of the game is to build your dream park and keep it running, dealing with the day-to-day trials and tribulations of keeping the rides working and the punters happy. Strategy is all important here--place your burger stand too close to a rollercoaster entrance and the riders will stagger off the attraction and become "unwell" all over the floor. Too much salt on your chips and not enough fizzy pop results in parched visitors who vote with their feet and don't come back--this is not a game for those who like action fast and furious and pick up a game for a quick five minutes now and again.
The user interface is a joy to use, making Theme Park World easy to play; in tutorial mode an interesting park advisor pops up to give tips on what needs to happen, where and when. But it's in the rollercoaster design phase that things get interesting. Lay out the track for your ride in full 3D, then alter it in differing ways to produce a killer ride--corners can be banked, straights raised and lowered and sections can be added and removed to create the kind of white knuckle ride Walt and Mickey would be proud of, then, using the game's first-person mode check it out from the front seat for that impression of being there.
Successful park management results in golden tickets being awarded. Collect enough tickets and the player can progress to bigger and more challenging themed parks, each of which presents its own unique challenge.
The long-term attraction of this game is doubtful, and only significant playing will reveal whether the whole procedure will become a little samey, but for a break from the traditional arcade-style fare usually associated with the consoles, Theme Park World holds bags of promise and is a worthwhile investment for the more thoughtful PS2 owner.

After having Theme Hospital on PS1 my expectations for this were high.
To begin with the game was fun and exciting, building new rides etc was fun. Like someone else has said on here.. the little Scottish helper in the bottom right of the screen keeps popping up... and you cant shut him up!!!!!! it gets very frustrating as he repeats things you've heard before, and things you already know. I found it really hard to build the roller coaster- not being able to make it join, and objects below keep getting in the way.
Once you've built all the rides, it becomes boring and irritating- with people being unhappy and getting into debt. Theme Hospital is much better.

I brought this game having played (and enjoyed) the original Theme Park. The previous version kept me occupied for hours. This one, however, I'm not so sure about...
The graphics are much improved from the original Theme Park (they're all bright and in 3D and look very pretty) and as its title suggests, there are multiple themed "worlds" in which to build your park. I'm still on the first world, but I'm informed there are Space, Halloween and Fantasy themes later on in the game.
My first impressions of this game were that it's very clunky. Most annoyingly, there doesn't seem to be any sort of cursor, so if you want to highlight a shop or ride or whatever, you just have to sort of scroll the sceen around a bit until ... Read More:

I wasn't sure wheather to give this game 2 stars or 3. The game itself is OK but it seems really hard to try and make any money to repay your rides cost. That liitle black blob thing is really annoying and you never seem to get an exciting moment when every thing goes to plan. Overall the game graphics are blocky, the idea of the game is sort of interesting, the money you pay for it probably not worth it. So don't spend £15 pounds on it like I did, please.
