Amazon.co.uk Review: The first thing you'll notice when you get Legend of Dragoon, is that it comes on 4 CDs giving you the possibilities for hours of gameplay. As introductions to games go, this is pretty darn good, only one minor problem, make sure you save the game as soon as you have the chance. If you don't you'll be sitting through the (rather long) intro again as there is no way to skip it.
Once past the intro, you'll be presented with an RPG of sorts (similar in some fashions to the Baldur's Gate games on the PC). You take the role of the main hero and the storyline unfolds in a relatively linear fashion to begin with, leading you to new places and to meet new people (some of whom will join you in your quest) but once you have the hang of the gameplay, it rapidly becomes more open and you are free to do as you wish. The battle sequences will either be the main-stay of the game or the most infuriating thing you'll ever come across.
Taken from the 2D environment into a 3D battle arena with turn-based combat. You (and any companions) have the chance to attack enemies, use magical attacks, defend or retreat. You will gain items and experience points dependant on the outcome of these battles and your warrior(s) become stronger and more skillful as they gain experience. If you like RPGs or if you've never tried one before, give this a shot-you'll love it!--Andi Flower

it was said at the time that legend of ddragoon could beat final fantasy and in a way it wasn t far from it the gameplay is really original and addictif and the storyline quite moving but to compare to a final fantasy it comes a bit short but still it s a brilliant rpg to put next to the ff series and xenogear and vagrant story ... B-)

I remember the 1st time I played this game, it was on demo on them rubbish few demos on 1 disc thing well when i first played it, it was really awesome i loved the graphics and i loved the gameplay. I used to get my mates round nearly every day playing the demo lol and you couldnt even progress any further which was pretty funny. This was like years ago so I was like 9 or 10 and now im older and ive gradually got attached to games more ive been wanting to play this game again. the only problem is, is that i dont have enough money and my ps2 is dieing so it cant read ps1 games anymore

Truly, it was an absolute priviledge to play this game. I only borrowed it from a friend a few times (too smart to part with it, the ******** ) but from the get go the game is very enthralling, much to do with its unique battle system; where attacks must me timed precisely with a reticle on the screen. Depending on your attack level, if you keep hitting, you could put out quite a combo!
What really sunk it for me though was a few hours in to it where you become a dragoon: a Dragon Warrior. During battles you may choose to 'power up' and transform into your powerful dragoon armor for short periods and unleash devastating attacks.
The story was excellent: the only thing bad I have to say about the game truly is its Dragoon ... Read More:

I bought this game pre-owned quite a few years ago for a couple of quid when I used to work for a Game store. Having never played an RPG before I was unsure as what to expect from this game, however the screenshots on the back looked impressive and I was keen to give it a go. I didn't want to start straight away with the Final Fantasy series as from what i'd seen they looked a fairly complicated task of playing. After a few hours of playing this game i was absolutely compelled to complete it as it was unlike anything I had previously played. I admit it does take a little while to get into but once you gain access to the Dragoon powers it becomes a piece of pure brilliance! Spanning across 4 discs, this game took me some 90 odd hours to complete however ... Read More:
