Amazon.co.uk Review: Expect Simpsons Wrestling to offer fierce competition for the console wrestling game crown and you¹re going to be in for a disappointment. If you're in the market for a fun, throwaway piece of arcade entertainment, however, this could be just your bag.
Boasting the involvement of 19 characters from the TV series, complete with accompanying sampled sounds and venues lifted from the show, the aim is to take control of a character and battle to be the Springfield Champion. Each character comes with their own taunts and moves (for instance, Barney attacks with a beer pot, while Homer will strike you down with his bowling ball), and although the game perhaps too often descends into a melee of random button hammering, it's fun trying out the different characters (some of which are locked at the start). Each bout is also enlivened by the various power-ups that appear throughout the ring (which serve up extra fighting options), and the taunt mode, which gives you a brief period of invulnerability.
Simpsons Wrestling never has any pretensions about being more than an enjoyable little fighter. That's fortunate, because it's no threat to the current fighting game champions. Yet while this is best described as short-lived entertainment, it's still certainly fun while it lasts. --Simon Brew

True, this game is not as good as some of the new consoles games, e.g. PS2, Gamecube or the Xbox. This game was an early release on the playstation one. At the time it was a pretty good game, and offered a story mode and multiplayer options. It is a challenging game and allows you to choose from a wide range of characters, which all have their own special moves and attacks. Overall this game is worth buying if you want a cheap new challenge.

the designers of this game must of thought it was a joke when they were making it, but they're the only ones who think it is funny: for everyone else it's a complete waste of they're hard earned money. it is an insult to the simpsons and to whoever buys it. The graphics at best retro and basicley a failed gcse art project. There is no skill and the repetive gameplay is an insult. STAY AWAY!

I expected this game to be absolutly brilliant, but I was disapointed to find that it was just a cheap knockoff off teken, all you do it fight diffent characters from the simpsons and it's not fun at all as their are not many moves to choose from and the good ones are almost impossible to get a second time. Save you money on this game, go buy teken 3 it's the same idea but a lot more fun.

Possibly the worst and most boring game I have ever played. This game requires no skill, hence you'll have had enough after 20 minutes.
