Editorial Review: Amazon.co.uk Review: One of two new Zelda games for the Game Boy Color, Oracle of Ages is geared towards the cerebral gamer, with a heavy focus on puzzle solving. The Triforce has alerted Link to trouble in the land of Labrynna, where the evil sorceress Veran has possessed Nayru, the Oracle of Ages; Veran travels back in time, setting up events that lead to a world where evil dominates. It's up to you to help Link stop Veran and set things straight... Game mechanics and menus are similar to those found in the first Zelda Game Boy title. As in almost every Zelda game, you have to traverse eight dungeons and find eight key items. The harp of time is vital to your quest this time: it's required to manipulate events and stop Veran's rewriting of history. Although this game is extremely enjoyable on its own, you'll want to use it in conjunction with its sister title, Zelda: Oracle of Seasons. After you complete one game, you'll be given a password that can be used in the other to begin with all your items, statistics, and progress intact. Certain characters will appear only by playing both games, and by using a link cable, players can trade items. Game Boy Advance users will find a store that's exclusive to them.  Rating: - Age Old FunA bundle of fun, must have product, goes great with Oracle of Seasons, when linked, games can 'combine'. Get it now! While I'm here, get Minish Cap, even better, rate a 6 1-5 scale! Rating:  - Amazing Game But Some Help NeededThis game is has to be the best. I got half way through the game when in the cave dungons gave you rreally had puzzels. You have to cover tiles to get a key. I kept on trying for 2 years when i just thought why not try a website, so i did and completed the game in month. Now that iv'e completed the game you can just carry on with the game and if you buy Orcale and complete it you can play the games all over again with diffrences. I'm going to buy the next orcale and the info book so i dont have to pint off loads of things or going backwards and forwards. This really has to be the beast game EVER Rating: - Oracle of GreatnessBeing the most puzzle orientated of the two Oracle games Oracle of Ages is a very well thought out game. The dungeon puzzles are some of the best from throughout the series. The main item of this game is the Harp of Ages which combines the time travelling of Ocarina of Time and the world switching of A Link to the Past. This game is at least as good as every other Zelda if not better and a worthy addition to any Zelda fans collection. Rating: - As Good as AlwaysThe pretence when buying any Zelda game is to get a lengthy, involved and thoroughly enjoyable game that is challenging yet not overly difficult, and Oracle of Seasons does nothin to dissappoint. With the help of the aged Maku Tree you control Link throughout Horon and also the Subrosia lava world to help rescue the Oracle of Seasons. A variety of weapons and objects are available for use including the rod of seasons allowing you to change the season throughout the game helping solve puzzles and helping you further your adventure. The graphics and sound are as usual if not better than past Zeldas, and the link up idea with Oracle of Ages is genius, and even if you do not have a link cable or two GBC or GBAs then you can receive a secret ... One tip though if you get stuck in this game dont give up because when you complete the puzzle you realise how simple it really was. |
