Editorial Review: Amazon.co.uk Review: Jade Cocoonis best described as Pokémon meets Final Fantasy, combining the former's gaming strategy with the latter's storytelling. The Omnibubu, the angry beasts of the forest, have swarmed your village and they've left most of the people trapped under a sleeping spell. In order to save your populace, you must become a Cocoon master and bring peace back to the forests. Capturing animals is the crux of the game and Jade Cocoon differs from its counterparts by giving the player the ability to merge captured creatures. This gives way to an almost infinite number of creature combinations, all with unique skills and attributes. With four main areas to explore and endless forest zones to search for more creatures, this game has a long life-span. Graphically, it's very beautiful, with excellent cut-sequences aiding story progression. The music adds to the atmosphere, with voices being used for most of the main characters, providing a real impression of being immersed in the game. Jade Cocoon is to be commended for its unique perspective on a tried and tested formula. As an RPG it's only average, but fans of Pokémon may find it to be exactly what they've been searching for. --Alex Leung Customer Reviews

 Rating: - Pretty coolThis game is pretty good the graphics arn't brilliant but that doesn't matter because the gameplay is good. If you like in depth plotlines and monster catching games then your in for a treat, the story is good and you can even merge the monsters you capture. I spent ages just fiddling around with differnt combinations. overall i think this game is a pretty absorbing epic. Rating: - Jade Cocoon reviewAt 1st glance Jade Cocoon is just your average monster capturing RPG game but as you play it, it improves. This game contains 1 main difference from other games of its kind, you can merge your monsters together allowing you to determine how your monster looks and I think this is an excellent addition to this game. The only slightly annoying thing about this game is the ending, the Eternal Corridor, basically its a forest that never ends and as you progress through it you cant help thinking whether there is any real point to it all. other than the ending this is a very good game and the fantastic graphics make you enjoy it even more. |
