Editorial Review: Amazon.co.uk Review: The Talk n' Action Magic Rail Set is more than your average train set thanks to its special interactive "magic" green tracks. The full set consists of 26 pieces of blue track of varying shapes and sizes; 6 magic interactive green track pieces; an easy-to-assemble tunnel; a battery-operated Thomas, resplendent with his faithful carriages Annie and Clarabel; station house and five trees. While this train track will be enjoyed by train drivers from 3 to 6 years old, children under 5 years will need an adult to assemble the somewhat elaborate circuit--though the instructions are clear and easy to follow. The complexity of this sturdy track, complete with four points switches plus inner and outer circuits, is then a real bonus as it holds the concentration of older children too. . Thomas and carriages are powered by three AA batteries (not included) secretly stored in Annie. Add the batteries, flick the switch and Peep Peep! We're off on a thrilling and very special journey... Every time Thomas passes over one of the six green interactive track pieces something magical happens. At the very least Thomas will puff a cheery little greeting "Here we Go" or more often he will change speed too. "Here we go. Hurry, Hurry" Thomas calls to Annie and Clarabel as he speeds up around the corner. Share Thomas's concern as his engine stops and starts and our endearing little hero mutters "Oh dear".  Rating: - Thomas talk and action setWe bought this for our 2 yr old son and he absolutely loves it. He is a big fan of Thomas and plays with this for hours. In addition to Thomas you can get Percy and James that also talk and come with the green pieces of track to add to it. great train set to buy Rating: - Thomas, the Magical 'healer'On New Years Day, my son and his cousin, both 3 years, were playing when he collidied with the corner of the wall. During our five hours at the local A&E Department, the doctor decided the injuy required stitches, our son wasn't for having anything done. We decided the best course of action was blackmail. If he allowed the doctor to stitch his head, he could buy 'Diesel' for his 'Road & Rail System'. He went in search of Diesel to no avail. Instead he bought the 'Talk & Action Magic Rail Set'. This was definately the right choice. Not only is it a great set to enjoy and play with, but it really is MAGICAL. Just now he is 'designing'a new layout and is speaking to it as if he was not alone. He has been fascinated by it and can sit and watch and play for what seems hours on end. We have purchased 'Gordon' in addition to Thomas, and my son is particularly amused when the two collide!! The only downside it that 'Thomas' is the only available engine that actually talks. Rating:  - Talk and Action Magic Rail SetThis toy defintely lives up to its' name. Magical! For our three year old daughter, she finds the mechanism just that and it leaves her asking the question "How does it work?", she believes it is real and not only that,there is also the added bonus of Thomas being able to talk. The track, however, is a little difficult to assemble with such small hands (even though the track is of a moderate size): so adult help is required.There is the problem of de-railing if the track isn't on a completely level surface. The watchful eye soon learns and tries to construct for oneself. There is also extra track which can be bought to complement the set plus the other engines, characters and landscapes.
