"Please play with me!" it seems to say. Like the Light 'n' Sounds Ball and Light 'n' Sounds Phone, from the same range, this toy is aimed at helping any child over six months develop their early learning skills, particularly visual awareness and hand-eye coordination. It offers great value for money and will provide hours of fun and interactive play. This cross-shaped toy has three levers (each with three different speeds) and a button. The design is reminiscent of a remote control handset. Move the left hand lever up and vertical light movement and sounds are activated. Move it down and the reverse happens. Move the right lever and the lights move horizontally--clockwise or anti clockwise depending on which way the lever is pushed .The central lever moves in a circular fashion; the faster you move it, the faster the light flash and bleeps go. There are 21 different sound combinations and nine different light sequences. The levers are small enough for little hands to grasp easily and a 10-month-old had no problem using any of the levers. The button is small however and did present more of a challenge. This toy only sleeps after 10 repetitions of the demonstration when it is left un-played with but it is possible to switch it off.  Rating: - Best way for toddler to attract your attentionWe've had this for a little while now and I've noticed our toddler showing more interest as she heads for second birthday. As with most Tomy toys, it is fairly robust and looks set to outlast all planned offspring. Only downside is the incredibly annoying bleeps as the levers are pushed and the dial turned - but I guess that's what it's supposed to do. |
