ok, this is not a top of the range earphone, but it does give a decent sound quality. it tends to look poorly built, but so far I have not had any problems with it.
it is not sound isolating, which is not very good, because when you are listening to music, you will still everything around you, unless you put it on full volume.
the volume control button seemed useless to me, and a bit annoying cause if your earphones are in your pocked or something, it might turns it down, so everytime you gotta check to see if it is on high.
Not bad for earphones, they do the job required, the sound quality is OK, but my old Philips did a lot better job, for almost the same price.
if you want very good earphones, invest a bit more ... Read More:

I'm now on my second pair of these earphones and I am having the same problems that I had with the first pair; the sound quality has slowly degraded and the left earphone has become distinctly quieter than the right. When using these earphones on my PC I have to adjust the sound balance between left and right to compensate for the quietness of the left earphone. Unfortunatly I cannot do this on my PSP (which is what I mainly use these earphones for) so I have to put up with it.
The fact that I have experienced this same problem in 2 pairs tells me that the quality of these earphones isn't that great. I treat them quite well so I don't think the damage to them is my fault (not completely, anyway).
With that said, while ... Read More:

[..]There are possibly the toughest headphones created by mankind. The sound quality is still good, but not perfect. I bought them when they were new stuff, so they cost me £[..], and i would happily pay that much again for them, so any cheaper is a super bargain.

I've had these earphones for over a year. They've impressed with their strong bass reproduction, together with their clear (but not bright) treble range.
Other reviewers have suffered from various cable-shredding and connection problems. Whilst I haven't encountered these, the 'phones are now distinctly less clear than they were when new, leading me to suspect they have a natural "shelf-life" from wear-and-tear, after which they need replacing.
Tried Sennheiser's CX300's which were just ok and nothing more, but became faulty almost immediately (actually a relief), so I think I'll invest in another pair of Sonys again (the MDR E818's). Can't really go wrong with Amazon or Sony, especially at these prices.

i use these with a sony mp3 player and use the sound EQ on that to tweak the bass, midrange and trebles to give the best sound quality. once this is done the sound quality is good.
however, big however, as i have found with most sony earphones in this price range, they are cheaply made. i listen to music every day on my mp3 to and from college and after about 3 months the left ear channel started to crackle. i will hazard a guess and say that this is due to poor wire quality or the fact there is no gold plated jack on these earphones.
i would recommend spending slightly more money to buy earphones with a gold plated jack, and being as sony earphones seem to be gaining a reputation for poor wiring, not a sony pair either! ... Read More:
