Music perks you up while you exercise; you can use it to pace yourself--or distract yourself while you work out. If you want to keep up with the news while you're training or you just prefer the radio to taking your own music with you, the Radio Walkman is small and light enough not to weigh you down. You could clip it over your belt but it's curved to fit on your arm with a sturdy armband (fastened and adjusted with Velcro tabs so it fits the most muscled forearm). Wearing the radio on your arm puts it in the best position for you to press the rather small buttons to change stations or turn on the training functions: you can also use it as a clock, a stopwatch or a countdown timer. For repetitive exercises you can set the pitch timer to keep counting out the same time over and over (and still listen to the radio). There's a hold switch to stop you changing station accidentally if you knock the controls or slip it into your pocket. Although you need to look at the display to set up timers, you can control them with the button on the side of the radio so you won't need to keep looking down while you exercise, and the volume control is easy to find, with a bump to remind you which way is up. Reception is good for a portable radio and if you get a lot of interference and a strong signal you can switch to a different reception mode. There's no backlight on the display and no automatic tuning but you can store six AM presets and 12 on FM (divided between two FM bands because there are only six buttons). The in-ear bud headphones are small and light, with good sound, and they won't get caught up as you work out. The radio's splash-proof rather than waterproof, so it's fine for jogging in the rain, and rugged enough to stand a few knocks.  Rating:  - Real MotivatorThis radio works just great. Its a good motivator on long runs. Works very well and doesnt bounce or iritate when attached. The ear phones dont stay in your ears though and I have had to switch to some other ear phones when I run. Perhaps I have got funny ears... Rating:  - A portable radio with a difference!I bought the Sony SRF-M80 Radio Walkman after seeing it advertised alongside other Sony S2 products. The Sony S2 products are designed for active use and are therefore designed and built with endurance in mind (water-resistant and sun-reflective casing, arm and belt straps). The SRF-M80 has several features including 18 FM/MW preset stations, easy to access buttons such as a 'local or DX' switch for finer tuning (and a 'hold' key), a clock and 99 hour split-second stopwatch. When I first strapped the radio on my arm, I found it a bit tricky and fiddly to strap on securely but I soon mastered it.
