Editorial Review: Amazon.co.uk : The Tipony Rocking Pony from Groupe Berchet is a star of a toy. This bright yellow horse has a brushable orange mane and tail, plastic handles that stick out from the side of his head, stick-on eyes and a very attractive, comfortable & removable yellow and red saddle. The saddle pops over the tail, attaches under the belly with Velcro and at the neck with a zip. In one of the pockets on the side of the saddle is a small electronic sound player. When pressed, you'll get lifelike horse sounds. It can be removed from the pocket, much to the joy of a two-year-old. The horse has wheels attached to the base of its legs, so it can be sat on and pushed along. It's fairly high off the ground giving an average two-year-old plenty of leg room. The horse can also be attached to a rocking base by the use of two screws and hoops. The toy is aimed at 12 months and above. While the horse is stable, a one year old would definitely need supervision and a two year is able to move the horse along the ground as it rocks. Mainly an activity toy, when detached from the base this little horse has also made a great pull along toy. However it is also good for role play and imaginative play. It has been fed and watered many a time in our household. The fact that the saddle can be removed has been very useful in teaching manipulative skills such as undoing a zip and Velcro. This is a good value toy that can be played with over and over again in a variety of ways for as much as four to five years. The company have told me that this problem has happened before and THEY DON'T STOCK THIS ITEM, this is an Amazon order number error. So, beware - if you order this item you will receive a basketball set that you will then need to return!!! Rating:  - Dual Function Rocking HorseThe horse detaches really quickly and easily from the base allowing your child to use it as a push along. The jacket is easily removed for washing but quite hard wearing too. In the pocket there is a box that makes a horsy noise, the batteries don't seem to last long though! All in all the toy is great and safe for rocking on, but also fun for them to sit on and ride round the house without the base. |
