 Rating:  - Brings a glow to your faceFor a game that's over five years old, this is STILL pretty damn' good. It was even rated in the Top 100 PC games this year by PC Gamer magazine, a notoriously difficult publication to impress: make no mistake this is not a lightweight experience. Most RPGs tend to be very linear, limiting where you can go at any time or what kind of skills your character can develop. Fallout 2 blasts this all away; true, you gain experience as with any other RPG, but the excellent character system lets you spend your points on a huge array of differing skills, so depending on your preference, the same guy could be a real MacGyver with all things electrical, an Arthur Daley salesman who could sell you waterproof teabags, an Arnie-style one man doomsday ... This game is the most playable thing i have ever had the pleasure to buy, its absolutely amazing. This game is set in a mad max style world which may put off some people for its lack of magic and dragons but for most people will provide equal if not greater emjoyment than most fantasy rpgs While being purely single player it has a huge world with many missions (so many that its worth playing through any number of times to make sure you got them all). Its completely non linear. Unlike other RPGs that force you to follow pre set paths this game allows you complete freedom, allowing you to enjoy the locations without having to follow the main plot. ... You can be a boxer, thief or just about anything to earn some extra cash whilst roaming around the ruined lands. The dialogue between yourself and others in the game is fun and different. The game can be a bit tedious in parts but overall it's a good, interesting game. If you like RPG's then you'll like this. It's an older game but the graphics aren't bad at all. |
