Editorial Review:
Product Description: Ty is a wild, charismatic, boomerang wielding Tasmanian tiger whose adventures take the player through a brilliantly animated 3-D environment set in the ruggedness and splendour of Australia. His adventurous journey sees him tracking down five Talismans to unlock a portal to another world where his fellow Tasmanian tigers are trapped. Traversing through a wide range of locations including the rainforest, snowy mountains, desert terrain and a barrier reef, he will encounter a large cast of characters--both friends and foes--all of whom are based on real-life animals that are indigenous to the Australian Outback. The game offers many elements customary in to character-based action titles, including Ty's usage of signature boomerangs as well as his chomping abilities, and provides a wide selection of gameplay styles such as combat, riding, puzzles and an array of mini-games.
Manufacturer's Description: Take on the role of Ty, who's always believed that he's the lone remaining Tasmanian Tiger--until, during a chance meeting with a mystical bunyip elder, Ty discovers that his fellow Tasmanian Tigers are still alive but trapped in another world, Dreamtime. In order to unlock and open the portal to Dreamtime, Ty must go on an adventure to find five stolen talismans. So begins his journey through a wide range of locations including the rainforest, snowy mountains, billabongs, the Outback and the Great Barrier Reef.
Ty the Tasmanian Tiger will offer a light-hearted and humorous action adventure experience where players will encounter a bevy of madcap characters based on real-life animals that are indigenous to Australia. For example, the charismatic Ty is inspired by the extinct Tasmanian tiger and his main enemy, the evil Boss Cass is a cassowary with a bad attitude.

Ty The Tasmanian Tiger is a brand new saga featuring Ty who is a Tasmanian Tiger, as the title of the game says. Ty is from Australia and his accent more or less Australian.
Ty The Tasmanian Tiger is part of the cartoon fiction characters and has known to become part of the Crash Bandicoot, Spyro The Dragon, Sonic The Hedgehog, Mario collection!
The story goes in which long ago a battle was fought over the fate of five mystic Talismans between Boss Cass and a family of Tasmania Tigers. Boss Cass managed to trap all Thylacines in the Dreamtime by using these, although the portal was destroyed and the talismans got scattered thanks to one of Tasmanians throwing his boomerang to dislodge the talismans. A family of Bilbies ... Read More:

Ty is a Tasmanian Tiger trying to rescue his fellow tigers. I think this game has brilliant gameplay and a great story line. If you are looing for a game in 2004... This is the one!

Ty is quite possibly one of the best Gamecube games I've ever played! The graphics are absolutely spot-on, and the dialogue, well...having a few Oz relatives myself, I can say it's impeccable! If you want a game that is just all around fun with a few challenges thrown in, buy Ty!

Basically it's about a Tiger who has to go on an "adventure" to save his family. To be blunt, it's awful. I've played it for about half an hour and that's it. The controls are awful and the dodgy camera angles put you off as well. The graphics aren't all that either. I thought it looked good, plus people said that it was alright, but underneath its clothing is something extremely boring, dull, frustrating and I regret ever purchasing it... Absolutely abysmal.

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is a sweet little platform game in which you power the Australian mammal through various environments to find five talismans. However, despite having incredible graphics, this game is short-lived and quite frankly easy. A meagre 11 proper levels and a "final battle" which is just as easy as the rest of the game mean this game is over before it's even begun. A shame, as it had potential.
