Being a big fan of the cartoon (I'm 34)I pre-ordered this as it said it was a 'Final Fantasy like RPG' obviously that was completely untrue,so it's a card game, never mind.
It starts off..well okay-ish,there's not a great deal to do apart from card battles, either in the 'story' or the duels.
It would be a good game apart from a few things, you can only get new cards from defeating an opponent,so if you're not good enough or unlucky it can be tough to get going,on the subject of luck, there's only so many times you can duel someone and they keep getting the card(s) they need before something 'smells' a bit.I've lost count how many times 'Labyrinth Wall' has conveniently appeared right at the start and you're left fumbling for Raigeki ... This game is awesome; it is VERY hard, it is completable, just requires much patience! If you have Xploder the game is much easier, so I just orded it! I love the game; it's an easier start, harder to get on in life; well HEY, it's a life skill. It isn't a livley game as such, but is very, hmm, intresting. It hardly has a thing to do with the tv series, the only thing it has in common is you're mellenuim pyramid-necklace-thingy, and the cards! Please buy the game, or the TRUE spirit of why we use the cards will be shattered, and no Large duelist wants that do they? Yu-gi-oh fans should buy this as it's Yu-gi's alter ego who you play as, but Yu-gi for a while! Any fan of Yu-gi-oh should buy this, even if it is just an ounce of fanasim.

this is one of the best games I have ever played.Being a hardcore yugioh fan[ive seen every episode of the anime series] I expected it to be like the tv series. It wasnt about the tv series but on the japenese comic that was made in 1996.I really liked the gameplay of the game and the graphics werent too bad for a ps1 game.I have to admit the game is quite hard but you will get the hang of it after a few minutes.I would recommend it to anyone who is a yugioh fan as others may not fully understand it but I think it is a great buy

This game is perfect for young Yu-gi-oh fans and I would imagine that it is aimed at children - my 8 year old son has played with little else on his Playstation since he got it. Although he found it a little difficult to understand at first, he percivered with it and now can build loads of powerful monsters. Maybe older fans should play with something more suited to their age.
