Editorial Review:
Amazon.co.uk Review: Set around the events of 1991's head-to-head with the Iraqis, Conflict: Desert Storm presents a stylised view of the confrontation, allowing players to see the war unfold through the eyes of either Delta Force or the good old SAS. Combining first- and third-person perspectives with a thoroughly well-designed team-based model, the game manages to pull off the almost unthinkable double for a console by being both engaging and easy to manage--not something that comes easily when you have a limited number of controller buttons.
The plotline is standard military sim fare--strategic targets must be blown up, prisoners rescued and bullets expended by the thousand--but the extra edge provided by the ability to drive vehicles and to creep around undetected by the excitable Iraqi guards makes this a must-have rather than a nice-to-have. The maximum squad size for any given mission is four team members, each soldier having a special ability ranging from marksmanship to explosives use. In theory, handling four troops simultaneously sounds like a tall order but developers Pivotal have done a great job of creating a control system that works well, even in the heat of battle.
Desert Storm is not an easy game by any stretch of the imagination and the learning curve can be quite steep; stick with it, though, and there's much to recommend it. For the cautious player there's an excellent training mode which gives thorough instruction on how to perform all of the basic functions guaranteed to turn you into a killing machine. --Chris Russell

In short, this is a fantastic title. It is a tactical action game, set in the backdrop of the first Gulf War. In most of the missions the player controls a squad of four soldiers, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. The sniper for example is weak at close-quarters combat whereas the assault specialist is poor at range. To progress through the game the player must make the squad work together, with each member using their abilities to maximum effect. This is acheived by the player issuing orders to the team via a series of button presses. While the controls can seem difficult at first, they quickly become second nature and are very intuitive. Each team member has an inventory that contains weapons, first aid kits to heal team-mates, ... Read More:

What can i say? This game is superb. It has everything that you need from tactical stealth to all out, guns blazing action! Visually, it has been improved from the PS2 version but that is not the only reason to buy this game. This will have you hooked from the monent you get put through the training. After spending 15 minutes getting shouted at by the drill instructor, you will be thinking 'How will what i have just learned be put into a mission?' There is nothing more rewarding than sneaking up on an enemy soldier and putting a bullet in his brain, or making a noise so that you draw all attention to you, only to see your team open fire! The only problem is that it does end, rather quickly, and the replay value is not that great. Don't ... Read More:

This is one of my favourite games I have come across. I like the graphical detail and the story line is very believable. It only got 4/5 as it is a bit to easy to complete. I hope more games are brought out like this and I think that it should be in the top ten games. All of my friends like this game a lot and every weekend we meet up at one of our houses and play for at least an hour on Conflict Desert Storm. Please, Anybody who reads this message you must buy this game unless you are not into stealth games and shoot em ups like Splinter Cell And Die Hard Vendetta

A solid enjoyable arcade-style war sim.
Getting straight to the point:
Visuals: Improved from Ps2 version with better textures and draw distance. -8.2/10
Audio: An atmospheric score swells and ebbs in the background. -7.6/10
Gameplay: As well as action and bloodshed, strategy is also a key factor and balanced well against the other facors. -8.3/10
Lifespan: Fifteen missions and also a very enjoyable multiplayer mode. Should last more than a few months. -8.0/10
Originality: Once again the game cube sharpens up one of the previously released ps2 games and succeeds. The strategic real-world action is unvailed well by the game cube. 7.9/10

THIS GAME IS FAB. I think this game is great because you can pick different squad members such as snipers and heavy weapon specialists. Another great feature is that you can play on a choice of single player missioms, co-op missions and play against your friend. Medal of honour eat your heart out because we've got a new champion coming through. This is a great game because you can either call in an air strike or go in and blow thier heads to pieces. The idea of going around in a squad is just brilliant because you have the option of being a team leader or just a normal soldier. All in all I think this game is amazing and you've got to buy it.
