Editorial Review:
Amazon.co.uk Review: Now's your chance to take the red pill for real and Enter The Matrix--not simply a video game adaptation of the films but a whole new chapter in the Matrix saga. Indeed, the best thing about Enter The Matrix is the way it seamlessly connects with the three films, for although it's based on none of them directly, it allows you to play the role of either Niobe or Ghost (minor characters from The Matrix Reloaded) while running into the likes of Neo, Morpheus and Agent Smith as the game's story unfolds. Not only that but the story, as well as all the exclusive video footage, is written and directed by the films' creators, the Wachowski brothers.
The game itself is, somewhat predictably, a third-person shoot-'em-up not at all dissimilar to a more balletic version of Max Payne. It's somewhat surprising though, for such a high-profile game, to find the graphics are actually a little below par and the controls somewhat clunky, but generally it all looks and plays pretty well with all the classic Matrix-style slow-motion acrobatics relatively easy to pull off.
Easily the best bits of the game are the on-foot chase sequences, usually involving agents, which are actually rather tense and a great way to show off all the running and leaping powers you've mastered in the rest of the game. The worst bits are the car chases, especially if you play as Niobe and have to put up with the terrible car handling, instead of just hanging out the window and shooting as Ghost. Still, this is a decent game overall which, although unlikely to win any awards in itself, is sure to please most Matrix fans. --David Jenkins

I waited for the release of this game because it was the first Matrix game, I brough it the first day it came out and when i played it and completed it in 3 days i found it to be disapointing, the action gets way to the same and the animation ant done that well also, the car chases are poorly done but the hacking system was fun. There are some good points about this game like you find out how they crash their ship and how some stuff happened in the movies ect but ovrall its a bad game i would recommend waiting for Path of Neo

This game should be bought for the kung fu in it , its great fun and cool. When it first came out it was safer to rent it cause the fun might wear off , but nowadays with the cheap price i would say you should just buy it.
By the way amazon there is a secret 2 player mode in it where 2 people can verse each other using all the kung fu moves but its pretty hard and annoying to unlock , if you get it check out the internet for help to unlock it

Some great sections of extra footage shot from the also decidedly Average Revolutions and Reloaded where probably a saving grace, the game overall isn't too unplayable and the combat system works some of the time, however it all feels like the technology is 3 years old, having played Shiny's back catalogue I know they can do so much better, fans of The Matrix series will probably lap this up, but the graphics are just on par with early PS2 games, as previously stated the controls are a mixed bag sometimes you can pull a gun off someone sometimes you are left fighting clumsy, Bullet time is fun for about 10 minutes, no feel of cohesion, the game also seems to have a number of serious bugs which I cannot belive made it through testing such as ... The Matrix. When i first saw the movies i thought they were amazing. So i had to buy the game. When you first start the game it is boring and repetitive. But as you learn the moves each carrecter has you can get addicted to playing it. The good points are that you can chose players and the slowmotions. Although every game has a bad thing and here it is the fact that you can only play with one player. When i saw the game in GAME for 44,99 i did not even think of buying it so i went on amazon and the prices here are very very low and look at the price now for such a good game. I would say buy it even if you don't like the matrix this is still a great first person shooter.

Good points
on foot missions
This is the only decent thing in the game(exept maybe hacking). My first impressions were wow. The fighting system lookes amazing, I was startled when I saw Ghost stab a vampire with a steak then kiked the monster to the ground. My first impressions were created when I saw a psw preview footage on dvd before game came out. The only problem were the grathics(gameplays the most important thing).
On the first leval you have to look for this package using any force nececary. You hold down the left trigger to go into slow mo(tion). You can run up walls then boot your opponent in the face, wicked stuff. You can choke people from behind, to ways of doing this, slow mo way or normal speed ... Read More:
