It's equipped with a CD player, a digital AM/FM stereo tuner, a mega-bass sound system and a stereo record and playback cassette deck. It also features 30 station-memory presets for one-button tuning, synchronised CD/cassette dubbing and a colour-matched remote control--all adding up to a satisfying listening experience. The unit's customisable three-colour backlit LCD display allows you to choose a different colour for each function (CD, radio or cassette). The sleep/wake timer lets you fall asleep or wake to CD or radio and displays the current time. The CD player uses a 1 Bit D/A converter that uses advanced technology for more accurate playback and the most natural distortion-free CD sound. It plays all compact discs, including CD-R recordable and CD-RW rewritable. Twenty-track RMS programming means up to 20 tracks can be played back in selected order. For battery operation the CFD-E95L takes six C batteries, as well as two AAA for the remote (optional).  Rating:  - Good CD playback - forget the MD linkI bought this particular box to take on holiday as I could plug my MD Walkman in as well as play CD's. However, the Digital optical link is OUT only (REALLY DAFT), so you have to use an analog stereo-minijack lead to hook up the MD. Sound quality is poor, with low volume and no bass. CD sound is good though. It plays CDR/RW, but NOT mp3 CD compilations, which is a shame. If you just need good quality CD/Radio/Cassette playback the unit shouldn't disappoint. Rating:  - Totally Fantastic Piece of EquipmentFinally, a portable stereo system with an optical digital output. This may mean nothing to some users but to anyone who has struggled to record to mini-disc using normal audio jack plugs this means the END to recording the entire CD as one track with bad quality sound and low volume. All that aside, this stereo is small and sexy with many excellent features. The CD alarm clock is brilliant... no more early starts to lame pop loving radio stations, now you can wake up in style. There really isn't much more to say, this stereo has everything a stereo needs and nothing that it doesn't, looks amazing and sounds even better - why are you still reading this, order one now! |
