i love flying games and being British, i love leaving reality and strapping into a spitfire and showing the germans how its done, after all thats what video games are for? they let you live your dreams. unfortunately this one doesnt. i was so hoping that this would be that desperately needed brilliant flying game for the xbox, but its not. it looks okey...ish and theres a nice selection of planes, theres even some very decent missions here. but its all let down by the flight physics, basically its for kids, you push the stick left and the plane turns left? that isnt how planes fly at all! i didnt expect a flight sim by any means but this is ridiculous. i should add that there is an option hidden away to activate proper controls, but this is ... If, like me, you were brought up with the dream of the Spitfire and the Hurricane and trying to defeat the "Hun" in aerial combat, this is the game for you. Some shortcomings with the handling of the aircraft and certain marques being missing but apart from that the challenges are challenging and the game play great fun.
Snag is it is far easier to "knock down" your opponent than it is for him to reciprocate!
Still it is a great, as my kids say, chugga chugga game.

Never have I in all my born days been confronted with utter rubbish! The flying simulation is too linear, aeroplanes do not react in the way potrayed in this game making the game play irritating. The games are simple and undemanding, the graphics are not what I would expect on an advanced machine such as the xbox. The scenario is yet another mickey mouse Yank twist on history with the good ol' US of A showing us weeny little Brits how to do it. If you want a good arcade flight sim go and get Crimson skies, what a beauty that is, then you'll see the type of graphics and flight performance worth paying for. Do not waste your money on this load of tat.

I bought this game after reading the reviews on this site. This game really isn't worth the money.
Good points
Graphics and sound effects are very good. Missions are good, from airial combat missions over land and sea to sinking U boats and destroyers with torpedos. As your experience increases you unlock new weapons and new aircraft.
Bad points
* This is the first flight simulator I've played that you can't do a barrel roll. When your flying missions and other pilots are talking to you, what they are saying comes up on the screen obscurring targets etc. You can not change view eg. The view is from behind the aircraft,or on top of the aircraft if on a bombing run, it would have been good if you could ... Read More:
