Editorial Review:
Amazon.co.uk Review: Conker the squirrel is one of the more unlikely video game mascots around. In Conker: Live and Reloaded he's revealed to be a foul mouthed, money grabbing boozer – which is not quite what you'd expect from his cutesy cartoon looks. Created by Rare (makers of Donkey Kong Country and Perfect Dark) the single player mode of the game is little more than a special edition of the original N64 game Conker's Bad Fur Day. The multiplayer mode though has been massively expanded and is the real focus of the game.
The only multiplayer mode that has so far been shown in detail is the very Battlefield 1942-esque "Blitzkrieg" mode. Viewed from a third person perspective the game has multiple character classes, various vehicles to drive and is playable for two teams of up to sixteen players. Although the controls and combat are very easy to pick up there are a number of obvious problems with the game as it now stands with characters moving extremely slowly and unresponsively. The graphics are also poorly detailed, belying their N64 origins.
It'd be foolish to disregard the game until the finished version is seen, but the fact that there seems to be more that is old than new is certainly worrying – especially when the original single player mode was very much a case of style over substance. Still, the other multiplayer modes (some of which, like Heist, are also taken from the original game) may help to sweeten the pot and make this one of the must have Xbox Live titles. --David Jenkins

Well I didn't have a N64 so I can only comment on the XboX game. I thought the game was really fun, completely different from anything I had played before.
The story line is great. Basicaly the king (a panther) needs a prop for his stool which has one broken leg. For this task he focuses his effort on capturing Conker (you, the squirrel) as he is the perfect height for the stool; that way he can place his glass of milk on the stool without spilling it. As you can see it is a crazy story line but with some great humour.
There are loads of games within the game which you have to solve in order to progress. It takes a bit of thinking about and I must admit, I had to read a walk through to get past some of the scenes ... Read More:

well the first thing that catches your eye is obviously the graphics, for an xbox game it's amazing, well actually another first thing that could catch some peoples eye, are the teddiz i mean their just funny.
with squirrels i just get a tedi in the corner and blast them, that is really funny. the plot for one player can be a bit tedious i mean those bees are annoying.... i dont like them but still as it goes on it get's good. the best moment of it was the van helsing shotgun bit that's incredibly cool
the army bit isnt as good as it's hyped up to be btw, most people buy this cause they think the one players all a bit medal of honour/squirrel but it's not really the army bit is just a little bit of it.

I was really looking forward to getting this game...but I was a bit taken aback (and make sure you are fully aware of this before you buy the game) when I found that with the exception of about 3 cutscenes the game was EXACTLY the same as "Conkers Bad Fur Day" on the N64...so be careful there. The Multiplayer is okay, although throughout the time you are playing it becomes increasingly hard to find out who you are, what you are doing, who to shoot (if you can see anything) etc.
BUT if you have not played this game on the original N64, then I don't think I can even speak of a game that is better than this one. Just make sure you know what you are buying before you buy it - I repeat, the solo mode is a carbon copy of the original game. Read More:

I never had the pleasure of playing the original Conker on the N64 so this review will not be helpful to anyway wanting to know any differences. I have however been playing video games since Ghostbusters of the Commodore64 back in '84 so I know a thing or two about games. The first thing that struck me about the game was the astonishing graphics engine - everything looks amazing with great animation and impressive draw distance. The attention to detail is almost draw dropping, as for instance, Conker leaves footprints when he runs through mud and has at least 10 different animations just for when he stands still for too long. One stage set in a nightclub has Conker slowly building up a dancing speed before resorting to the 'stacking shelves' ... Read More:

***BE WARNED THIS IS NOT A NEW GAME IT IS THE OLD CONKER REDONE*** i give this three stars. why? becasue i love the old conker for the N64 this is no sequel!! . and this is it! redone the graphics and added some new scenes! **but not redone the animation** this is annoying! when your playing at an amazing looking game you dont want to see objects cross over and see things through walls, BUT YOU CAN! this annoyed me the whole way through the game. every now and then it pops up!! ARG! anyway the multiplayer is fun but i think that picking up your own weapons in game is much better than picking a character with set weapons! and its really only any good on xbox live. the old, fun, crazy multiplayer from the N64 was ruined NO MORE CHAINSAW OR UZIS OR ...
