 Rating:  - Good but has it's faults.This is an enjoyable, story driven wargame, it does, however, have it's problems and I'd like to highlight these first. 1. The initially released game is a bit buggy, but this was resolved by downloading the latest +300Mb patch. So apart from the normal moan about publishers releasing games before they are properly polished not a problem. 2. The 2 campaigns are a bit short, not yet tried the multiplayer. 3. There's a lot of loading time between scenarios. But now to the good things: 1. A comptetent battle simulator, it reminded me of a spruced up 'Dark Omen', which is good. The simulator is not as good as the total war games but very enjoyable. 2. The warhammer setting, ... Read More: Rating:  - DisapointingI first heard of this game and thought "great! Warhammer, Total War style!" in a White Dwarf magazine. I waited so long for it to come out and eventually when it did come out, I was quite annoyed. The campaign system is very restrictive, playing a single player battle took me about a day to work out where it was (this may have just been me being dumb), it is rather laggy, and at the time of it's release I had a dual core 2.2ghz processor, 2gb RAM and an Nvidia GeForce 7600GT and finally the AI is extremely basic in terms of tactics but also linearity. All entrances, exits and "random events" are actually scripted so you can just quit and start again if you fial to do something. Very dissapointing all round although it did have one ... Rating: - Short and under developed...Lets not get away from the good points here - it's challenging, it's different and it covers a broad scope of the Warhammer world to wet the appetite of most gamers. Multiplayer is fun, and the ability to customise and play around with your 'army' is without a doubt one of the best things done in a game in many a year. Unfortunately the single player campaign seemingly goes nowhere fast, and indeed is more limited than ye olde Mark of Chaos game. I'm not sure how they managed it, but they took a 10 year old game - gave it a dress up (and even stole one of the missions clean out of the original) - then treated it like a mushroom. Read More: Rating: - Let's just straighten a few things out, here.Right - first of all, if this game doesn't run on your pc, there is generally a reason for that. Don't blame your game, check your pc out. Secondly, stop comparing this to Total War. It isn't. It's more like Dark Omen and The Shadow of the Horned Rat from ages ago. If you must compare it to another game, compare it to it's predecessor. Now that's all sorted out - this game is very good, very distracting, and lots of fun. Downside - it does seem linear, and it does seem a little simple. Also, I would have preferred clear instructions as to how to have a one off skirmish and paint my army up. but, I expect I'll find it somewhere.
