Amazon.co.uk Preview: Coming out towards the end of the original Xbox’s life, the first Forza Motorsport was a sadly overlooked gem that was as realistic as Gran Turismo but far more exciting and accessible to the average player. Despite being close to release, surprisingly little is known about the sequel, although it has been confirmed that it will include over 300 licensed cars with everyone from Nissan and Volkswagen to Lamborghini and Chevrolet having a presence on the track. All of the cars feature realistic damage; this can range from tiny scratches on the paintwork to almost splitting your car in two during a particularly devastating crash. If you’re the type of driver that likes their car damage-free, you can set the realism of the modelling to whatever you want.
The final game is expected to include over 70 different real world tracks, including Suzuka Circuit in Japan and Sebring International Raceway in Florida. There are also many fictional tracks, some inspired by real world locations. The game also supports multiplayer via Xbox Live, split-screen and system link. Every vehicle is customizable via the in-built decal editor, and you can trade cars and liveries with other players via Xbox Live. If you fancy the ultimate driving experience, then grab the official Xbox 360 Wireless Steering Wheel that has been developed specifically for the game. And to really impress your mates, you can setup multiple TV screens for an almost 360 degree view of the game. Any more realistic and you’d need a driving license to play. - HARRISON DENT

Forza 2 is a great game. Good gameplay, good graphics etc. However it is targeted at a specific market - people who like the technical aspect of racing on consoles. If you just like to get cool cars and let them rip at top speed on hugh tracks, then maybe this isnt for you - I recommend something like Gran turismo ..
But a good game and here on amazon.co.uk, a good price!

This is a real example of what a next-generation console can do. With the power of the 360, you get the racing and graphics hinted at in PS2 / Xbox games, but with a never-faltering framerate and of course more detailed visuals. The game's strongpoint is its physics engine; it is sublime. I've played some great PC sim racers, and this one on the 360 is right up there. It is incredibly realistic and satisfying to play. It's difficult (try turning off some or all of the assists) - but not annoyingly so. A 4WD Audi TT grips the tarmac as you'd imagine, whilst a 70's Porsche 911 is a delight to slide out the back end and regain control. Enemy AI is pretty good, and you are penalised for crashes which makes the racing far more tense than the PS / ... Read More:

This game is amazing, there is so mutch to accomplish in it's carrer mode that it took me 80 plus hours, add to that a huge arcade mode and xbox live play and your onto a real winner. The only down side is that it may well take over your life, this game can become seriously addictive with it's car tuning, upgrading, painting and trading with friends over xbox live.
This game has as mutch depth as an Ocean, a truly brilliant racing sim and another reason to own an xbox360 the best games machine to date, who needs gran turismo when you could own this.

the closest you will ever get to to being a professional motorsport driver - unless you like a REAL challenge you should probably go for something a little easier on the mind like NFS.
THE FINEST RACING SIM OUT THERE! WITH ALMOST EVERY CAR YOU EVER DREAMT OF, FROM LEADING MODERN SUPER CARS TO THE HUMBLE CLASSICS AND EVERY LEVEL OF PRO MOTORSPORT CARS BAR F1.

I think Jeremy Clarkson summed it up best on one of the Top Gear episodes, where he took a Honda NSX - R round the Mugen racing circuit, once on Forza Motorsport and then for real, to see how the two compared.
Once on the Circuit, He realised that the only thing seperating the two times was the fact that when playing Forza, the user has no 'fear factor' and therefore, trying to match the time on Forza was impossible.
Previous reviewers have moaned about the level of graphics on this game. however, when you consider the sheer amount of detail put in to this game you can see why they haven't put as much time into it. drivers physically change gear (you can see this) brake discs heat up on heavy use, and whilst in race ...
