Editorial Review: Product Description: The Tardis Playset is a reproduction of the Console Room of the Doctor's time machine. It comes with lift out access panels, the Police Box doorway, hatstand, pilot seat and console. The console has been recreated in miniature with switches and sounds activated from the correct places and has 13 individual sound and light combinations plus motorised 'Time Rotor'.  Rating:  - A stage for the DoctorWell, if you can avoid sending £40 on this toy - I got it for £10 as part of a multibuy - it's excellent value. Once assembled - and set aside an hour to do this - it's a far larger structure than you'd guess from the box. This is so different from most Dr Who toys which look better and more substantial in the box. The toy is an excellent backdrop for kids to play with the various Dr Who characters. It's a bit like a stage. Paying heed to other reviewers, it's not particularly robust but sets the context for Dr Who-themed play. I'd recommend it and wouldn't mind one myself!! Rating:  - Fantastic!I've gotten the toy yesterday although it took my friend and myself almost 2 hours to put it up (which was fun in itself, ignoring the slight problems already mentioned here i.e. getting the pieces out of their wired cages ;-)) I still love it. I loved its details (the inclusion of the hammer definitely got a fan-heart-PLUS from me :-)) and the sounds, light effects and the fact that the core of the TARDIS really moves. What really got me were the explanations in the instruction manual about the TARDIS panel - all the sounds and effects are put into context of the series and it informs you what every panel is about. The sounds, motion and lights are fantastic and when it's put together (which is easy enough to do) it looks fab! Unfortunately you'll be putting it back together every 2 minutes when you set the kids loose on it! For an item with a RRP of £40 you really would expect more durable materials than the cardboard that the wall is made of. It just will not stay put and is not strong enough to support the door. I got this for my 5 year old for christmas and although he loves it, he does get very frustrated with it constantly coming apart. As do I. And it really ought to come with a Doctor figure I think. Read More: Rating: - must havethis is a must have 4 all kids who love the new doctor who series. brought this 4 my 8 year old and he loves it, with all his doctor who figures i brought as well 4 christmas he spends ages playing reacting scene's from the series. delivery was very quick and 4 the price this has 2 be the best price i have seen it. Rating: - Best ever Xmas present - so farI bought this for my granddaughter aged 7. She loves it! I wouldn't have paid full price for it because the card is flimsy, the build is not secure and it's a real pain to move once constructed but for the amount I paid (£12.99) it's excellent value. My granddaughter went back to it time and time again on Christmas Day. I'm glad I also bought figures for her otherwise it would have been a bit of a non-event, it should have included at least one figure for best value. Loved the sound effects. |
