 Rating:  - not happy at all, no video support for touch or classicI bought this item in good faith that it did 'what it said on the tin' but found out pretty quick that there're video out problems with both the classic and the touch. This is really not clear even in their own manual. Will stick to Apple products next time. Would have given no stars, but that's not an option. Rating: - Almost perfectThis is an excellent product which has saved me having to burn cds, which I have alway found (unlike commercially produced cds) deteriorate in quality over time. The only reason preventing me from awarding 5* is that the output signal strength is considerably lower than the signal output from a cd player. It is however stronger than a phono player output, thus preventing passing the signal through a phono amplifier. All this means is that changing from cd player to IPod and vice versa requires significant changes to amplifier volume. Still I wouldn't be without it, and would buy another if required at any time. Rating: - Does the job, and pretty good for the priceThis little dock does everything I wanted it to do- it conveniently and discreetly sits my iPod next to my hi-fi, and charges it while it plays, with no fuss. The best features are the in-built volume settings (which are independent of the iPod's headphone volume socket), and the extra buttons on the remote such as 'next album' and 'next playlist' which are useful buttons considering they're not on the iPod itself. On the down side, the video doesn't work with my 30Gb 5th gen iPod, but I wasn't too set on using that feature anyway. Also, Logic have put a constant blue light on the front of the dock, which is permanently on. I found this a bit annoying so I've put some black gaffer tape over it. Does the ... Read More: Rating:  - Does what I want it to doI bought this dock to work in conjunction with my Black ipod 80gb Classic. It does everything I want it to do. It charges the ipod and I have it connected to my Hi-Fi via the 20 pin ipod connector at the rear. This means the sound and volume are controlled via the amp and this is of a fantastic quality. I haven't tried to connect it to the T.V to watch movies because I download DVD's to my ipod to watch, not the other way around. My only gripe is it doesn't come with an adapter to take the Classic so I've had to use the white adapter that came with my ipod. It doesn't look too bad but a black adapter "might" look better. Rating:  - a little shoddythis is OK if you buy it and leave it in the same spot but it doesn't stand up to being moved around and repeatedly plugged in and out - the line-out socket in the back broke and fell inside the machine after a few times, which means that I have to plug the audio cable into the top of the ipod - no big deal but not quite as elegant. Also the volume control has never worked on mine though judging by the other reviews that seems to be an isolated problem. |
