 Rating: - Fun but disappointing!When the track and cars are working well my 3 year old boy and 6 year old girl love it. But I have to say that I spend a great deal of time putting the cars back together. One car more than the other seems to come apart a bit too easily and then I have to keep spending time putting it back together. And then you have to get it just right or the cars won't go round the track properly. It comes with crash barriers that don't go on very easily and then come off and seem to hinder the cars. Yes the track does fit together quite easily but little boys like taking things apart and you can't let them do that or it will wreck the track. I would say that this is a toy that needs to be supervised whilst in use, you cannot leave them alone with it! ... Read More: Rating:  - Poor qualityBought this set (not from Amazon) as a starter to the world of Scalextric. Unfortunately the socket for the DC connector was loose and the current would therefore only flow intermittently. The slightest movement would disconnect power. Nothing I could do to rectify it and the set therefore had to be returned. Seems pretty poor that a major toy manufacturer cannot even get somethng as basic as that right. Bought an alternate set, not Scalextric, which was much more robust and had a far larger and more interesting circuit. Expensive for what it is and poorly made. Rating:  - Great for little racersMy 4 year old just had this for Christmas, and loves it. The cars go really fast without coming off, due mostly to the magnets on the bottom. Colour coding of track / car / controller makes it all easy to understand. The track quality / durability isn't up to the traditional Scalextric standard, but then this is fun and cheap. One review I read mentioned the cars getting stuck at the track joints - this only happens when you go really slow....give it some welly!! Rating: - My 1st ScalextricMy two children loved it. My 3 year old got to grips with it very quickly and got his car going with no problem and he loved the fact that went really quickly without coming off (flat out the cars do come off but then that is how it should be!). My six year old really enjoyed it and had a lot more control. Overall this is a great little starter kit. The best thing is that it goes together in about five minutes and is resonably sturdy. The cars do sometimes get stuck on the connections but a little push later and no problem. At less than £20 this can't really be faulted. Rating: - Great for the Price!for kids this is definitely a great set, i think the reviewer below must have got a faulty set as i have never had any of these problems. it is easier to use than other scalextrics, but the bodies of the cars do come off if you crash on a hard floor they can be easily clipped back on again, its just annoying. if you have never used a scalextric before you will be amazed at how fast the cars go! other scalextric sets are hard to get for under £70 so this is great for what you get. 2 cars 2 controllers a decent sized racing track(for the size of the cars-about 3cm by 5cm) overall great fun 4 every1! |
