 Rating:  - A great camera for a beginnerIF you really want to take some great photo's, but don't want to pay professional prices for a DSLR camera then this is the camera for you. Having taken the time to read a few sections of the manual (how to use the manual settings) i quickly ignored all of it and just used the Auto modes (mainly Auto and landscape). I've taken this camera to Africa on safari, and taken some fantastic photo's and I truely am impressed with this camera and how good the pictures are. Things I would suggest you also buy if you're buying this camera: - 1) A 58mm UV Filter/Lens protector - protects your lens and helps make your piccies look ace! 2) A Flash gun with a bounce head - got mine from jessops for £22 - really improves ... I then purchased a Fuji Finepix S5000, which looked and felt like an SLR, but everything, including the zoom was battery powered and time consuming when in a hurry! I decided to go back to a real D-SLR choosing a Nikon D40x but when I went to look at one for real, I fell instantly for the Fuji S9600 in the same display cabinet. Manual zoom means the the camera goes instantly into ready mode as it does not have to set up the lens using time and battery power. Read More: Rating: - Broke after 4 monthsThe camera is pretty decent, but on the large size. Not good if you have small hands. Unfortunately, mine broke after a few months. I think I may have inserted the memory card the wrong way round and something in the slot broke; did not use great force. Now I am faced with a repair bill of £99.99. Beware. Rating: - Forget DSLR buy this insteadOK so the good news is this huge spec, very high quality awesome beastie of a camera is under £200, the bad news is its a little large!!! LOL. I can't see any problems with this camera at all, auto mode takes very good shots, it has all the usual bells and whistles, Burst mode, bracketing, sepia etc etc. All of the usual gubbins you'd expect on a top line semi pro camera. Add into that the magnificent Fujinon lens with manual zoom (which is so very much better than a power zoom). Its fast too, quick start up times fast focus generally brilliant. In response to other comments, I use a card reader to get the photos off the camera.
