Firstly, i think that playing online against other people around the world is cool!! the aim of the game is to become the most feared pirate in the 16th century!! there are many different ways to succeed, the best way is probably to kill the other pirates, finding long lost relatives, buried treasure and taking over all of the islands. this is a great adventure game for those who have time for it, "Yerr think yerr can beat me, Jacob (rank 1st), yep, im the only 1 to be inducted into the hall of fame. :P

When I first bought this game, I couldn't put it down and I eagerly set about all the activities mentioned by the other reviewers. I eventually finished the campaign with quite a high rating.
However, when I started the next campaign under a different country it seemed almost identical. It seems to make almost no difference which country you adopt. In addition, after a while, all the actions. locations and characters begin to become repetitive after a while.
So in summary, it is good fun for some time. But for me it lacks the variety to be entertaining in the long term.

I had this on my X-Box, and spend hours, days (maybe weeks and months) sailing about raiding ships and cities, duelling captains, and creating general pirate mayhem. The PSP does not fail to provide the same enjoyment. Even richer looking sea and crisper ships serve to give me power to say that it is possibly even better than X-Box made it look. The game is described elsewhere, but for those reading the less positive reviews, just think --- Sailing around the caribbean in your carefully raided and stolen ship whilst sat in the bus/train/car/lounge/office yelling "Yarr", "Me Hearties", "Walk The Plank" and other such Piratic flavoured remarks.............Fantastic!
A fresh take on open world games like GTA etc (That, by no means ... Read More:

This is a very good adventure game. There are lots of possible paths that you can take. You could be a merchant, a law abiding lord but best of all you can be a pirate. You could spend you time looking for lost cities, finding treasure, fighting other famous pirates etc, or almost anything else that you could think of. There is also a very large sailing element that appealed to me in particular. However, as the previous reviewer said the game can get a bit repetitive. Another problem is that after a certain amount of playing time you character just dies of old age. This usually comes at an inopportune moment! Despite this there is still a large amount of replay time in this game. Think of it as an open ended adventure like GTA but without the mindless ... Read More:

I had never played the previous versions of the game so was unsure what to expect, but high ratings on other websites convinced me to buy it. At first it was quite fun sailing around and going to all the ports, fighting other pirates, discovering lost cities etc. Then after a day or two it got very repetitive and quite boring to be honest. It is described as being a game where you can do what ever you want but really there are only a few things to do any way (stuff i mentioned above.) Its also a bit rubbish in that when you go to ports you can't control your character and walk around a town you just use a list to go where you want, not very fun. it took me about a day to complete it once, and because it says you can change your career and its different ...
