Not one of the best Need for Speed games, I've played.
But it dose have some nice fetures like the police hot pusute, terottory controls and team racing.
First thing you will notice is that the grapics and sound are like out of a ps2 game, and this could be improved, if the develepers taken more care.
The secound thing you will notice is the button configuration is not like other racing games or even some of the other need for speed games.
So this was quite frustrating, as I am use to hitting X rather than R2.
But this could easly be changed in config.
3rd thing I noticed was the control was a bit stiff compare to need for speed underground 2.
Part from these 3 bad points in the game.

I bought this as a game to play whilst waiting for GT5. I wish I hadn't.
The graphics are straight from the PS2.
Handling is VERY unrealistic.
Almost every race feels the same.
All the cars drive roughly the same with almost no difference in handling.
All in all, I am very upset at having spent so much money. PS3 games aren't the cheapest in the world. I think perhaps this is a game that is definately aimed at the younger (MUCH younger, and I'm only in my 20's!!) audience.
Excuse the pun... steer clear of ths one!!

This is really just a "dressing-up game" for boys. Customise your car with chav bodykits and alloys, upgrade the engine, brakes etc. It is clear that this is where the majority of the effort went.
They've also tacked a racing game onto the side, but it's not much cop (if you'll excuse the pun). The Police chases have been scaled down (ah... now you get the pun) and the driving physics are extremely suspect, even for an arcade game.
The graphics are also dark and drab, as the whole game is set at night. This means shorter draw distances which should, in turn, allow even better and more detailed graphics... but it doesn't.
The worst part comes when you attempt the drift trials. Anyone who knows anything ... Read More:

It seems every time a new console comes out the games get that bit harder. Just put our copy of this up for sale after an annoying afternoon getting nowhere. The graphics, sound and premise of the career mode are really good. Unfortunately even the first races are just too darn hard unless you are a nimble fingered gaming guru and steer a perfect course each time. My wife and I both tried repeatedly without success to beat the first three races. The checkpoints don't give you enough time - one mistake even just rubbing the side is enough to put you too far behind. In the competetive racing you must win to beat the race, not even second or third place is good enough.
I started to form the distinct impression no matter how well you drive ... Read More:

The battle for the city is won in the canyon as Need for Speed Carbon immerses you in the world's most dangerous and adrenaline-filled form of street racing. For the first time in a Need for Speed game, build a crew and race in an all-out war for your city against rival crews and opposing car classes. You'll risk everything to take over rival neighbourhoods one street at a time.
Each crew member has unique skills that you trigger during races to give you the winning edge over opponents. Call on a Blocker to create a distraction and slow down other racers or a Scout to lead you to shortcuts on the track. As the police turn up the heat and force the races to the outskirts of the city, the battle ultimately shifts to Carbon Canyon, where territories ... Read More:
