a great way to waste a good 40 hours
though not even comparable in quality to latest installements of this god-like series, FF3 DS is a brilliant remake of a pearl of early RPG making.
the story is almost nonexistant comprising of 4 light warriors trying to awaken 4 crystals and save the world from darkness. and it really never gets any more complex.
the battle system in utterly simple turn based old skool easyness. the jobs just starting to make real sense in this edition.
where this game is great is the ease of play - the fact any amateur can pick it up and get to grips with one of the easiest systems in any FF. the remake has introduced recognisable charactermodels and personalities for the 4 light ... Read More:

I'm a sucker for role-palying games (RPGs) and this one fulfills my geek needs. You get a team of cute-as-heck characters to progress up levels. The graphics are very pretty - I never get bored of the way the view of your characters spins through three-dimensions when a battle commences.
The music is very good too - probably some of the most atmospheric music that I've heard on a DS game. It's funny because when I was about 16 hours through the game, I thought that the music and gameplay was getting a bit repetitive. But then you complete another stage and the game opens up a whole batch of new character classes to you. Actually, on the topic of character classes, I think that one of the cunning things about the game is that you HAVE to ... Read More:

I've been playing this game for about 20 hours so far and I have no idea how far I'm into it. But the graphics are lovely. The little team that you control is really cute and watching the cut scenes when 'important' events happen is quite entertaining.
There are quite a few character classes (or 'jobs' in Final Fantasy world) to choose from. Only a few of these are open to you to begin with, but I got offered a new batch of job classes about 8 hours into the game and then another batch about 4 or 5 hours later.
The battles are a little repetitive - and I find that all I need to do is hit the 'attack' key rather than do anything terribly subtle. So that's why I've given this only a 3 out of 5 star rating for fun. It is ... Read More:

this game is amazing if you like rpg's you should like this game

For a DS, the graphics 4 this game are great! I was amazed by the movie scene at the start and expected more as i played through the game. salfy this wasnt the case. And the story was flat and was again like other classic ff games, involves crystals and the characters lack individuality. But something must have been good for me to play it till the end. Perhaps it was the thought that perhaps the storyline would get more intriguing as i got further? although it honestly didnt.
The bosses werent all that challenging. even the end boss was too easy. But then again, i kinda sat for a while building up the characters before the last battle...
with XII renvant wings coming out, that looks promising. lets hope the storys good.. ... Read More:
