Dark Messiah is a game which I really wanted to excel in all areas. The multiplayer looked promising and the psychics and combat promised to be terrific. Sadly the game falls short on a variety of levels, especially the story. Avoid this failed title, as it's just not worth your time.
The Good:
- Nice graphics and level design
The Bad:
- Laughable Storyline
- Terrible Mplayer
- Poor Optimization, choppy in places

This is a quick review just to tell you to discard the bad reviews if this game appeals to you. If you like this sort of genre (not RPG) i mean the fantasy type free roaming genre then you will like this game. However it will not blow you away, perhaps if released earlier before major titles like Oblivion it would have made a better impression. The graphics are not bad they are most definitely not amazing but do serve their purpose, i haven't played the PC version of this game but i'm surprised they have not improved the graphics because if they did it would make this game that much nicer!

First off the demo gives no indication of the overall game.
Its slow, boring and last gen. The multi player is marginally better, but isnt that always the case. I would stick well away unless your a diehard fan. Also, why do game developers still make games that have no Auto-Save.. Grr! A shame as it could have been so good, as the PC varient is I believe.
2/5 Not the worst game, but not one for most people.

Last generation movement, some pretty but very static graphics. I was bored before I reached the first puzzle.

I was a big fan of the early Might & Magic PC games in the nineties, and was looking forward to this to fill the gap left after finishing Oblivion.
Unfortunately this meant I was badly disappointed. The things I love in an RPG are missing. There's no choice in terms of your race, sex, characteristics and appearance. There's not the same level of wandering 'round, talking and exploring. The side quests aren't much to talk about. If there's a map I haven't found it. The game is very linear. The treasure, equipment, spells and alchemy etc are disappointing...
If this had come out a couple of years ago I would have enjoyed it. Unfortunately, since Oblivion, I really think subsequent games should be as good, if not better.
