 Rating:  - Ignore the fanboysThere are a few reviews on here that cover this game well, see the one below for example. However, and I have found this to be quite an issue when I was first deciding on a new handheld system, there are an awful lot of lies about the PSP by DS fanboys. What you need to know is that this is a remake of the PSOne classic that never made it to Europe and had many people either importing or using other means to get hold of the game. I personally hold this as the best tactical RPG ever, even above the mighty Disgaea, Shining Force 2 and Front Mission 3. The story is rich and dark and heavily revolves around the theme of class systems, what makes the story so good is that it is a Japanese take on European culture and history which makes ... For the most part, I think I was justified in buying it. This is not your normal RPG fare. There is NO wandering around villages chatting to people. This game is all about the battles. At this point I'd normally summarise how the game plays, however, FFTactics is sooo deep and complex it would take far too long. (In fact, the first hour of play should be devoted to the tutorial). Beware, if you were a fan of FFVII and more recent incarnations, this is nothing like it, it is more like Kingdom Hearts, if you remember it. This is my all time favourite game on Playstation and GBA so when I realised Square Enix were releasing this on PSP, I couldn't wait. What was released was a ported GBA game with a slightly different storyline and a few cut scenes. What a disappointment on PSP, but, if you've never played it before you'll probably still find it addictive. Rating: - Good fun, if a little aged.Whoever said that this was a reason to buy a PSP - well hardly, it is pretty much the PS1 version with a little extra. While it didn't get a release over here on the PS1, it could be imported and played on a US PS1 along with the likes of Chrono Cross for a lot cheaper than buying a PSP solely for it. That said, it is a solid game and any fans of Tactics Advance on the GBA would do well to check this out. The gameplay consists of tactical battles where you can move and attack with each of your allies once per turn. It certainly is a step up in gameplay from standard Final Fantasy battles, which can get a little dull.
